Eventually the legs start sprouting out. Those aren't tadpoles! I can't...Good grief, girl. Those aren't tadpoles! I can't really tell what it is, but it's not a tadpole. Go do a google search for tadpole images, you'll see. Then do a search for images of mosquito larvae to make sure that's not what your "squirmies" are. <BR/><BR/>Sorry you didn't find any mantids today.
