<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For those of you that do not see me on Facebook, here are a few more envelopes I did using the style of Devoted Diarist. Her style and technique is way more advanced, but I keep trying! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is for my stepson and his now 1 year bride, for their first wedding anniversary!<br />

Two cards I made using watercolor and Sharpie for drawing. I learned this technique from The 11th Apartment, who you can find on Blogger and Facebook. These were done using cardstock, NOT watercolor paper, so Sharpie was fine once the watercolor was dry. If using watercolor paper, evidently Sharpie will bleed, so you must use a permanent artist pen, like PITT.<br />

I just bought REAL watercolor paper, and artist pen, so I am ready for action! I also bought the 36 color pallet of Artist Loft watercolors. I am making some swatches to check out all of the colors later today. Wish me luck! Oh, and I have been writng to a friend in French, and found that watercolor in French is aquarelles....so pretty!!!<br />

Hello everybody! I added some photos here of interest to me, and maybe you as well. I have learned this pretty way of addressing envelopes to mail, from an Instagrammer, called Devoted Diarist. She has a different sort of lettering on hers, but really, you can use your own normal handwriting, just making it larger, and colorful, and adding more element on the envelope. I use pretty stamps, and a star rubber stamp and added stars all over for an Independence Day feel.</div>

This cute lamp was hanging from the ceiling in a super amazing donut shop (where I only had an iced coffee, BTW, since I am following a low carb diet these days). It is called Rhino Donuts in Boca Raton, Florida. They have the most unique, and amazing looking donuts I've ever seen. Isn't this lamp shade just so cute??? I kind of just want one over my dining room table, honestly!<br />

Carla asked if I had made just those grocery store place mat travelers journals from my last post, and I have also just made two more in the small field notes size, out of leather. The one with a lime green stretchy cord is mine, and the one with tan cord I made for my brother to use at work. He was previously using a small notebook with a coil binding, but it was hard to slide it on and out of his pant pocket. So far he has reported liking the one I made. YAY! I really enjoy making travelers journals, and plan to make one more for my sister and sister-in-law. <br />
<br />
This one is mine:<br />

Hope everyone has or had a nice Fourth of July. We are going to my sons house, and the fireworks go off right across the waterway. It will be fun to spend time with all 4 grandkids.<br />

Hello to anyone who happens to come by!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How do you like this solidly CHROME Mercedes I saw today! WOW! I'm not sure I would want to see my reflection THAT MUCH!!! It could be like a fun mirror tho, depending where you stood! LOL.</div>

On my walk yesterday we encountered this Mamma and her babies! So sweet! The weather has been so nice lately...very sunny, warm, but cool in the shade, and breezy. It kinda feels like what heaven might be like!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Saw this poster on another of my walks yesterday. It is a swing/hanging seat available at Pier 1. I just think it is so cute, but I would have to hang it inside as it would get covered in mildew here in south Florida, or rot in the humidity, I think. I sure wouldn't want to chance it! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are two travelers notebooks I made out of plastic place mats from the grocery store! Have you seen the travelers notebooks? They are so fun, as you insert different types of booklets inside, and they can include things like calendars, planner sheets, expense tracking sheets, coloring book sheets, diet and exercise, etc. I have gotten involved with a few groups on Facebook, and love seeing what people are making, buying, and selling. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And here is a pretty picture of my male Betta after seeing the female...he flares out his fins and tail, and looks so gorgeous for her! Normally they don't see each other, because it wears him out, and he starts loosing parts of his tail and fins! <br />

These are just some random photos from my past few weeks. I hope anyone reading this is doing well. I miss you, my blogger peeps! Take care! XOXO! Julie<br />
Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04402220963886597754noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6766825872703394586.post-81725177580329875632016-02-12T19:11:00.000-08:002016-02-12T19:11:11.279-08:00OK, I caved and sewed myself a cover!After searching literally hours for a pretty handmade journal cover, I discover the perfect one! I went to order it, but the difference between the dollar and whatever country it was in, it ended up costing too much. Still I thought I would order it. Then suddenly I said to myself, "What the ??? is your problem, Julie"!!! I have so much scrap fabric!!!! I had to convince myself I could do it! I jumped up, started measuring my journal, calculating, and picking out fabrics to coordinate. This floral pink, white and black is flocked, and it was a blouse, that had pin tucking on front. I decided my journal needed some interesting architectural details, so the pintucking would be on front. The spine is a natural muslin, and the black jean material is a pocket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjls0UepjN-xsIo6bS6UQ5A-6Et0a5-ZV-E-THWgoS5U6ObV9UPdJxuLSrbAUB9uPkF8GpCW_Wr-AYiIB9R4xqgeaLN7mzRHjk3kC7nXJuh-5M5wSk-hX5xNiWiuVryYoXdgki6faKwQ_4/s1600/IMG_20160212_202922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjls0UepjN-xsIo6bS6UQ5A-6Et0a5-ZV-E-THWgoS5U6ObV9UPdJxuLSrbAUB9uPkF8GpCW_Wr-AYiIB9R4xqgeaLN7mzRHjk3kC7nXJuh-5M5wSk-hX5xNiWiuVryYoXdgki6faKwQ_4/s640/IMG_20160212_202922.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
The back. The black jean material continues around the spine, and across the whole back, which can hold papers, or pens, paperclips, etc.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzlCWHgBR7_T780EprPpzBzs5DMY_xdDWeuoy7LKxTdBYXjGlPaXxbtuEc0aRBpptd1TAUKeNeFUpeLrcJFwco9-RB3oDqVvZr9nbDEtNp7WCwuPssprRzAk-Lzxler9nA0iiYjqeqS1Y/s1600/IMG_20160212_203938.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzlCWHgBR7_T780EprPpzBzs5DMY_xdDWeuoy7LKxTdBYXjGlPaXxbtuEc0aRBpptd1TAUKeNeFUpeLrcJFwco9-RB3oDqVvZr9nbDEtNp7WCwuPssprRzAk-Lzxler9nA0iiYjqeqS1Y/s640/IMG_20160212_203938.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
The inside is entirely made of the beautiful floral material. If the book were removed you could see it. I made flaps, so that the cover can be used on any A5 journal. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIwbYx4hpZ4Nki6UGItxegQTmwYjHrm3O2TIdU50KesrssMuPopNHTlprl1F3ba7phwNMaJdPzF124b1yOgUC4ObiE9OAkLYNRygFjEVLdXMmsKCmrP2S1MgtUT-7wuNE7Y1ZcQFmEz0/s1600/IMG_20160212_204147.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIwbYx4hpZ4Nki6UGItxegQTmwYjHrm3O2TIdU50KesrssMuPopNHTlprl1F3ba7phwNMaJdPzF124b1yOgUC4ObiE9OAkLYNRygFjEVLdXMmsKCmrP2S1MgtUT-7wuNE7Y1ZcQFmEz0/s640/IMG_20160212_204147.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I like how it turned out, with the use of the different textures of fabrics, and you know that pocket makes me very happy. The pen I painted with nail polish goes with it perfectly!<br />

I just learned about bullet journals. Have you ever seen or heard of this idea? Basically you just make a sort of list of whatever type you wish...it can be many things, such as THINGS TO DO, tracking things you have done, or recipes, DIY's, etc. There are videos on You Tube to learn about this system. <br />
<br />
Anyway, I was searching around the house for a notebook that I could do this with, and found an 8.25 x 5.5 basic paper bound notebook, that has graph paper inside. I thought this could work OK for list making.<br />
<br />
This journal will list all of the Korean dramas I have watched, by year and month. I do love my dramas! I got an idea to attach a monthly calendar page inside the front left side when I get up to a new month starting. The person who did this, just uses pretty washy tapes to tape it in. (The calendar is smaller than the page so there is room for the tape). Here is her blog post about it.<br />
******<a href="http://misszoot.com/tag/bullet-journal">ZOOT BLOG</a>******<br />
<br />
This notebook had some spine issues, so I used E6000 to repair, and then used some of my homemade decorative tape to cover the old ugly black spine. It is improved already, but I am wondering how I can decorate the front, and that is where I am looking for any ideas. I can sew a lovely cover for it too, and maybe I will end up doing that anyway, but just wondered if there would be another way...<br />

Here is a picture of my cute baby, Doozey, being all snuggly this morning, too. Just for you! See the shaved area on her arm where she had an IV in the pet hospital this past weekend? Shes doing much better. Still on antibiotics (2), and a probiotic, A few more days to go, and she should be good as gold. My poor sugar baby! </div>

I wanted to pop in to show the washi tapes I have made so far. These were my first tries, and far from perfection, but I am getting it down to a better look with time! First though, is a wonderful pen I have that had a white barrel, (and drug name on the side). It writes like a dream, but I wished it was prettier! I saw where you can use mail polish to paint your pen, so I did a random dabbing kind of deal, and ended up with this! Pink, gold, and lilac. I really like it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RZpsQ5LajuEZEzf3a8aMxpfKUMhk_m7QZZXywUGSwtLVOtb-RZy0Ej6yhTqubfKkdPFU1K33904oTdqaVzYvtDrjQg40nznOV-JaEOg98hy-Zooxw8QvHbwpmari0CeerCyQZNul1do/s1600/IMG_20160124_075017507.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RZpsQ5LajuEZEzf3a8aMxpfKUMhk_m7QZZXywUGSwtLVOtb-RZy0Ej6yhTqubfKkdPFU1K33904oTdqaVzYvtDrjQg40nznOV-JaEOg98hy-Zooxw8QvHbwpmari0CeerCyQZNul1do/s400/IMG_20160124_075017507.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
So here are the thicker 1 inch washi tapes I made using "Cloth " tape from drugstore. I liked this at first, but then graduated to the 1/2 inch PAPER tape (also from drugstore). It tears more like actual washi tape, and has that same kind of feel. I just realized I spelled your name wrong on this tape I made Bobbie Lynn!!! So sorry! What a dummy! Well, as I said I am learning, and I think I was a bit excited at my first tries!!! Out of these the blue with flowers stamped turned out the best.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWsBomGxFQVZLb3UWkuBjEBz13JWjeEtAnulWQjf8WWMc9-KQIUNS3ZCAuObEMFuc0IaR5Z1ronNtIR3KNL8LVBm7jy9DsMJ0MSGGnb__nS5459DfUwTwRmPcBYL81a5VRz5Kwn113BeE/s1600/IMG_20160125_150757017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWsBomGxFQVZLb3UWkuBjEBz13JWjeEtAnulWQjf8WWMc9-KQIUNS3ZCAuObEMFuc0IaR5Z1ronNtIR3KNL8LVBm7jy9DsMJ0MSGGnb__nS5459DfUwTwRmPcBYL81a5VRz5Kwn113BeE/s400/IMG_20160125_150757017.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I like the pink with suns too! The purple one is kinda neat also. These all have a shimmer, because I sprayed them all with a metallic alcohol ink.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I decided that a yellow tape with suns was a more appropriate use of a sun stamp! The light blue tape is stamped with a green ink in flowers. I like the random prints best.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

How do you like this huge box of decorative tapes I found at Target. Each one is 9 ft. long. It only cost $9.99<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is my carousel of washi tapes...can you see the ones I made wrapped around a plastic straw??? Love this storage idea!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My little book I write down what I eat in. I decorate it a bit with tapes and stickers too. A relaxing thing in the morning.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here is another washi tape made with 1/2 inch paper tape. It is hand stamped with individual letters. Tedious, and not anything I would want to do much of. I added strips of dotty pink on each edge, but have since removed it because it looked to sloppy. <br />

Picture of my well worn craft table. Love it so much, can never part with it. You can see the grands have splashed paint on the lamp...not only the base, but shade too! How fun! We don't play around here, we are serious crafters!!! Hehe.<br />

I have posted these photos on FB, and Instagram as they happened, so this is just a wrap-up of my last few days. I have started keeping a planner, which I don't really use for appointments, but just to record anything that strikes my fancy. I learned about it from my DIL,and the fun part is all of the planner decorating you do. It reminds me of the junk journals we all used to do, but with the new twist of having it be a planner! I made my own "dashboard", or what they call the first page of your planner. I added an envelope to hold decorative elements, which can be stickers, sticky notes, etc. I cut out some parts of my actual bag of Gummy Bears, and glued them in using E6000, and sparkly washi tape. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="background-color: #141414; clear: both; color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.2px; text-align: center;">

I learned how to wrap the ribbon around the front edge of the pape9rclip, bring the ends to the back and pull through and up. It makes it look good and the ribbons then stick up much straighter.</span><br />

My SIL, Lynn, told me about it, so I must give her a big thank you!!!! It is inside the Wyndham Hotel. This place is just moderately priced, but the food, and ambiance there is devine! They have a great venue, too, for parties and very cozy events. I imagine a nice intimate wedding reception there. If you ever go, check out that space! Here is a pic of my Buddha Bowl. It was incredible.</span><br />

My eggplants are going to town right now. I have 3 on each plant in various stages. I love eggplant plants in the south, because you can keep them going for approx. 3 years! These are in the first year, but should continue to fruit solidly over the 3 years! Amazing! This is my first time growing these large white egg shaped type. Sure hope they taste great! I have szechuan ideas for them!!!</div>

These photos have already appeared on Instagram and Facebook, but just wanted to add to my blog for the folks who don't visit those places. I found these gorgeous orchids on a walk through the neighborhood the other day. The homeowner had attached to a tree in their front yard! Aren't they just so stunning???<br />

Have you tried the seasonal pumpkin spice greek yogurt? Love this one. My DIL found them first, and posted on her Instagram, so I had to go get some too! Really gets you into the fall spirit!<br />

I added in some new fake (yes, totally fake) fall flowers from Dollar General, into my front garden. I absolutely love them! It's shameful, I know, but it is still so hot here, I hate going outside. These look great from the sidewalk and road. I'm happy! Hopefully the neighbors enjoy the pop of color! Of course, behind them are my REAL purple Black Knight plants that I adore, a row of REAL green plants I cant remember the name of, and behind that are my REAL hibiscus. LOL.</div>

A cute Calvin Klein dress I found for Audrey, in size 4 that she is currently growing into. It was at Goodwill for $1.15!!!!! It is a thicker knit, perfect for cooler days with some leggings and a sweater. Best of all is that she loves it!<br />

I had Emily home from school this past Friday, and she needed to practice her writing. I made her these writing sheets with her favorite things on them. She thought it was fun for as long as she could do it before feeling bad again. Poor baby. Luckily she was better in just 2 days!<br />

I made a shaker bookmark with the acetate pieces from junk envelopes. I used two to allow the glitter stars to shake around easily. I attached the two pieces together using double sided mounting tape. It worked great! Trimmed the edge, and covered the back in a gold holographic tape.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaGIQZSb5T5Ns6BX1b90yqdGSCXeWv4fNj7T1oJiZMPIlVEakHoIfls9jp75hJAG9gWkVGzNOJ8eW4tGXIVnU2ljoGc-RisEoJ9UsVwBZ1bIu3Yo5F-U6u6GImImu-liHKUyf5v8xT6w/s1600/IMG_20150811_085230350.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaGIQZSb5T5Ns6BX1b90yqdGSCXeWv4fNj7T1oJiZMPIlVEakHoIfls9jp75hJAG9gWkVGzNOJ8eW4tGXIVnU2ljoGc-RisEoJ9UsVwBZ1bIu3Yo5F-U6u6GImImu-liHKUyf5v8xT6w/s640/IMG_20150811_085230350.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The one larger brad that I had left just happened to be a skunk. Lol. Turned out so cutely! I think this bulky type would make a cute set of beer box magnets for refrigerator.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now, Emily also needed a dress for her tiny Kelly doll (Barbie's little sister), so I cut a little scrap of pink fabric, secured it with a bit of glue dot, wrapped around a peice of eyelet pre-gathered trim for the bottom, and then some mini pink ric-rac. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Good for emergency situations where you just need a dress. No changing clothes at this point! Hahaha. Sorry, Emily!!!</div>

<br />
I finally got crafty minded. I saw something somewhere about tea bag folding. I did a YouTube search, and there are quite a lot of videos showing basic to advanced folding techniques. It started out that people would fold actual tea wrappers, which would be little squares. I would like to save my glossy Twining tea wrappers and try it one day! I started out cutting origami paper into 9- 2 inch square. It takes 8 squares for the folded part, using a glue stick to attach them together. Easy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1LbR92tYDwQnTkq2Vj_2Q-PVOb4QtmSB2IPwipDWwwqCK31V9gpANmP2udH_GldtXTpI1biGUkJhcy8GMThh8N3O6k4FsohIHCmYf__xUL1eR78CPvye3oe3VXUb3TZgm-y5UQiAP7nM/s1600/IMG_20150806_203950029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1LbR92tYDwQnTkq2Vj_2Q-PVOb4QtmSB2IPwipDWwwqCK31V9gpANmP2udH_GldtXTpI1biGUkJhcy8GMThh8N3O6k4FsohIHCmYf__xUL1eR78CPvye3oe3VXUb3TZgm-y5UQiAP7nM/s320/IMG_20150806_203950029.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then I tried some 3 inch ones,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvQuTNNEhZlOrqpM1U3Jz6xa0_8vZFs4kWdG9M2xhCV4wNSkI9hvOlaAlhQR2nWkCpvbrnA9-PBR5sRDFsXeuo5aQZ6qtjArM4B1fz0D8oi4fltSAjFcTUj6ambRFQwFlaeqBgnIukiIE/s1600/IMG_20150805_212137918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvQuTNNEhZlOrqpM1U3Jz6xa0_8vZFs4kWdG9M2xhCV4wNSkI9hvOlaAlhQR2nWkCpvbrnA9-PBR5sRDFsXeuo5aQZ6qtjArM4B1fz0D8oi4fltSAjFcTUj6ambRFQwFlaeqBgnIukiIE/s320/IMG_20150805_212137918.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Origami paper)</div>
and 3.25 inchers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_AXwyr8o9R24hwGMA1TiOT5dMtYyp9YBuRFF-ohMAd3PJNY9McR1LCA8tQuL3DU2HbNt3AxrQNc3Jaf2LIHpQ7c3SoN6R9UeVDr4oLEBdlwPQkfs366WHqXtlmkzRONw3P_BqHYKTjEw/s1600/IMG_20150808_090734488.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_AXwyr8o9R24hwGMA1TiOT5dMtYyp9YBuRFF-ohMAd3PJNY9McR1LCA8tQuL3DU2HbNt3AxrQNc3Jaf2LIHpQ7c3SoN6R9UeVDr4oLEBdlwPQkfs366WHqXtlmkzRONw3P_BqHYKTjEw/s320/IMG_20150808_090734488.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Magazine cover, my favorite)</div>
<br />
I like the origami paper a lot, but then I tried fussy cutting my squares (cutting them out from the very best spots) of a magazine cover. This one was my favorite, as it had some glossiness to it. The last thing I tried, which were my biggest ones, was scrapbook cardstock.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFgOGeezJHZHhdd4b_dz0kXy8xfnV9e3AbxhmfdbT0DcfkLpyeHlz2B_1GY53wJjQUO9fz67hRFD8FzRGlkYpKd9gicO4uDdb3puV4jyc7T90Zk8iHBPxi0ebe4tmqqRX84iZF_xHhiPo/s1600/IMG_20150809_011818743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFgOGeezJHZHhdd4b_dz0kXy8xfnV9e3AbxhmfdbT0DcfkLpyeHlz2B_1GY53wJjQUO9fz67hRFD8FzRGlkYpKd9gicO4uDdb3puV4jyc7T90Zk8iHBPxi0ebe4tmqqRX84iZF_xHhiPo/s320/IMG_20150809_011818743.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Cardstock)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stuck a square of paper on the back to anchor the whole thing, and then stuck a brad in the center.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRoRkhk2RnVQ2nZEPeVqjAmea2fo-TOzmdjTj2CP1Xnqawmgoo7xHNRSZSgWoFVtgVhbFx2RzR9bvMLpeNEbZpVBwVfrMtcw_9mA707QTO_Xilf4DuV7N0U4_PIVKCk-nJZpcI1ueO32I/s1600/IMG_20150809_011832132.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRoRkhk2RnVQ2nZEPeVqjAmea2fo-TOzmdjTj2CP1Xnqawmgoo7xHNRSZSgWoFVtgVhbFx2RzR9bvMLpeNEbZpVBwVfrMtcw_9mA707QTO_Xilf4DuV7N0U4_PIVKCk-nJZpcI1ueO32I/s320/IMG_20150809_011832132.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Origami paper)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These turned out more suited to use for package toppers, or I thought if they were even larger, they would be cute to add to banners. The 2 inch ones can be hot glued to headbands. The 3 in is a good size to attach to the front of a card. I made 3 cards with some, and forgot to take pictures. :(</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYqNEwYvs8FFeqZXN78zxJEQJWxHB41UzREhR_1GOVJQrzseIKlrWsyhR6mrDEpxKnP7OKwH-uUl21_-Vn7FLi3eal-vKYVrKBcQYQ67SIpzZ9YhetOeB-z8pgZyOlB99rzzxIBpYj08o/s1600/IMG_20150809_011855142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYqNEwYvs8FFeqZXN78zxJEQJWxHB41UzREhR_1GOVJQrzseIKlrWsyhR6mrDEpxKnP7OKwH-uUl21_-Vn7FLi3eal-vKYVrKBcQYQ67SIpzZ9YhetOeB-z8pgZyOlB99rzzxIBpYj08o/s400/IMG_20150809_011855142.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Origami papers)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The blue on on the left in photo above is a different folding technique than the others. I like it too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Give this a try if you are looking for a fun project! I'm a little bit hooked on it now! I'm heading onto the internet now to order some fun brads for future folding.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi! I have some random things to show here. Most has been seen on Facebook already. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First, I want to say have a happy, fun, and safe Memorial Day weekend. God bless our military! Thank you to my son, too, for his 5 years of military service! <span style="background-color: red;"> <b><i>I am very proud of you!</i></b></span> <span style="background-color: blue;"><span style="color: white;">Love you, Brent!!!!</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I kept my granddaughter, Emily home from school this past Thursday not feeling well. Well, around 11am, she suddenly started feeling better, and became very fun and animated. We had to make a disco ball, have a party, and here she was being silly blowing up balloons. She blew up about 8 in the end. And we had a pizza party when everyone got home from work. We made a paper mache-d modified disco ball. She is a trip! Her she is making the "disco ball".<br />".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGHZ9Sjo6SdmfSqwWti73Ioa-j8-cfB4G_QKvN3KU0e40HCE8VLVeFl2ecslE9HczwtydRacngAOeXxySMIMmhF1oipwE1jBtLSSuzyOEXEgunseNk-zf00ueIGBxgtnAeOMSQMyWNowg/s1600/IMG_20150520_135655994.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGHZ9Sjo6SdmfSqwWti73Ioa-j8-cfB4G_QKvN3KU0e40HCE8VLVeFl2ecslE9HczwtydRacngAOeXxySMIMmhF1oipwE1jBtLSSuzyOEXEgunseNk-zf00ueIGBxgtnAeOMSQMyWNowg/s400/IMG_20150520_135655994.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Here it is finished . We wrapped multi colored garland on it with hot glue gun and hung it up. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Of course, we had to hang up streamers too!<br />

Emily made this bead necklace for Doozey, and we got her dressed up to show it off. This pic is my phone background now too! Hehehe.<br />

I had 2 crysalis' form in my caterpillar screened over enclosure. One disappeared...so only 1 left! I think about 10 got eaten before I got them covered, and I have no idea where the rest went. There is a lip around the tire. I'm wondering if some may have gone there to attach themselves. We shall see. I am watching this thing closely several times a day. If I get one (out of 20 caterpillars)...its still a good ratio...as in the wild only 1 out of 100 make it to butterfly! Kinda sad. I suppose it is good for the birds tho. :)<br />

Have you heard of this sensation called Adult Coloring Books? They are highly detailed pages to color with colored pencil. It is relaxing and zen-like. This one took me about 2 weeks to work on slowly each night. I printed this one free off the internet, but gave my friend an actual coloring book for her birthday.<br />

Well, I am posting from my phone and taking these photos from whatever random way they load. Looks like first you can see is that the crazy lady (me) who took apart a plastic coated metal sort of cubical shelving that was rusting. As I did it, I was ending up with a pile of squares. All I could think of was "GROUP PROJECT"!!!!! So the first thing I thought could be fun for kids and adults alike, was to try a weaving. Here's what I've done so far. I continue to have high hopes for it. After it is filled in to my satisfaction, I plan on adding silk flowers to form a giant sort of fancy letter, finish off the edges so no rust can be seen, and then add a hanging ribbon. Yes, calm yourselves.....I am just that lazy not to spray with Rustoleum first. Stay calm. LOL.<br />

This is a beautiful crystal clam I found at Marshalls and see the pink pearl inside? The colors you see are all reflections on items around there, as the crystal is basically clear! It was so pretty. A paperweight. 10 bucks. Nice.<br />

Now just this morning while dropping off daughter for her college classes, I saw this big bird trying to see what was going on inside the classroom! He was walking on top of the bushes to spy! So funny! Eventually, he gave up on higher learning, and flew away! Lol.<br />
<br />
I had a long, dry creative spell, and am basically in the same state. Just staying busy with living stuff, no time for much else. I've even laid off Facebook as much.<br />

Well, this has to have turned out very different from the start of a lovely pattern. First, the arms were not long enough, and I ended up adding the white to lengthen all, and then it was laying all wonky, so I ended up edging it out and I'm telling you, it went to about kindergarten level. Lol. Oh well. Nice try, Julie!!</div>

Hi! I have been gone from the blog quite some time. One thing I've been trying to practice, is learning to crochet. YouTube is my best friend for this! I can actually watch and really learn! I was never able to fully grasp it before now, but I am pushing forward, and to my happiness, learning. Below is a flower I made, which will be one of about 35 that all link together to make a tote bag! Should be fun. These are good for portability.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX8BxOJh540rcR8yvRgtaOqAnB-eqC3w7TDvCWB3ZUDX02uFMa9hyphenhyphenF0m3Vz8bn3F1OPS1feA8PFIAUwHeHXgZ0ShrTOwYX9zjEgsfC1gICir9cB4iavDbnsZUn3StD38cOxV8YK-PLmZI/s1600/IMG_20150201_224922773.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX8BxOJh540rcR8yvRgtaOqAnB-eqC3w7TDvCWB3ZUDX02uFMa9hyphenhyphenF0m3Vz8bn3F1OPS1feA8PFIAUwHeHXgZ0ShrTOwYX9zjEgsfC1gICir9cB4iavDbnsZUn3StD38cOxV8YK-PLmZI/s1600/IMG_20150201_224922773.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is a 3-D butterfly I just tried. He's kinda cute! </div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RuTGt41-l4U/VM70FNsLqMI/AAAAAAAAQyw/DEljQJHxSIM/s1600/IMG_20150201_224436546.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RuTGt41-l4U/VM70FNsLqMI/AAAAAAAAQyw/DEljQJHxSIM/s1600/IMG_20150201_224436546.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a><br />
Here below is what I thought was a butterfly, but I really think it must be a Luna moth with those bottom thingies hanging down. This one was a huge challenge. I lost the ability to follow the pattern once I got to the bottom two curly bits, and the outer right wing, so I just did it by trying to copy what I had done on the other wing. It ended up being OK, not perfect. But cute. I think I will block it and stiffen it to use as some sort of decoration.<br />

Here are some slippers my friend KNIT for me, and they are perfect in length, but kept sliding off my heels, so I added 2 rows of single crochet to bring them up ever so slightly, and now they stay on! Yayy! I like the pink trim too!<br />

Here is a tiny little pouch for holding quarters! Pattern on YouTube. I outlined the front flap and the buttonhole in red. It will get a key ring attached possibly....or maybe not. Good for having change for a drink machine. Secret stash.<br />

My latest obsession is anything Swedish. Excited to find out there will be a season 2 of Welcome To Sweden. If you missed the first season, you can watch all of the shows on the NBC APP. The commercials are aggravating, but I just get up and do something while they play. Its worth it to see the show.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I made these 2 pillowcases for my friend for our monthly swap. She doesn't come to my blog, so its safe to show them. They should arrive to her house tomorrow. This was for our END OF DECEMBER swap. I read that Irish folk traditionally always made themselves new pillowcases at the start of the new year, to have somewhere to keep all of the money that would be coming to them. They would also eat green cabbage leaves which indicated all of the money they would prosper with in the coming year! So, since I am half Irish, I felt I could use this idea for her New Year surprise. She loves cats and dogs, so I used matching fabrics, but one is cats, and one dogs, for each case.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE6TPhy8-hr1qTnsoHLXMD8mmMRgofSf2RSLdiTTIbYPMDXgZ8VTOeDrk2iiEA82Vrt6uBpi_gYQ_Ha467bFBH6XMHC7Wuj7LtEI5dDY7sjaDWJdlHNo3ZC97W3MiiD-xMUiMagxnNVz4/s1600/IMG_20141229_204154057.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE6TPhy8-hr1qTnsoHLXMD8mmMRgofSf2RSLdiTTIbYPMDXgZ8VTOeDrk2iiEA82Vrt6uBpi_gYQ_Ha467bFBH6XMHC7Wuj7LtEI5dDY7sjaDWJdlHNo3ZC97W3MiiD-xMUiMagxnNVz4/s1600/IMG_20141229_204154057.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are folded in quarters, so they are really longer and wider, and fit standard sized pillows.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will leave the cabbage cooking to her! Lol.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So then Emily came over the next day and found my left over dog and cat fabric, and she wanted a kitty pillow! She picked some lion material from Moms old stash for the cuff of her pillow because, she stated "Lions are cats, and they go together"! I thought this was good logic, so voila:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC6xe9JUffpr4MIrg5eHSl6pvUbknhIoZHVM2_CKFvsMDZ6BEIOF2lNAlxFQGAEE8UY4UTu3pMWCrzKcYpy6MOD5eIj84DIHYcNDtAlLLoQGG-Z7Z7NYZrQ3fRxbGadU1xp-Sdu0uGDb0/s1600/IMG_20141230_101049815.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC6xe9JUffpr4MIrg5eHSl6pvUbknhIoZHVM2_CKFvsMDZ6BEIOF2lNAlxFQGAEE8UY4UTu3pMWCrzKcYpy6MOD5eIj84DIHYcNDtAlLLoQGG-Z7Z7NYZrQ3fRxbGadU1xp-Sdu0uGDb0/s1600/IMG_20141230_101049815.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A new case for Ems! Now I feel Donovan needs the matching dog pillow from the left over of that. I just need to find him some cool fabric to use for the cuff and accent strip. Maybe tomorrow morning!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I've been staying busy with learning to crochet with the smallest hook EVER (not really as I have found out there are way smaller from my friend, Claude). This kind of work is ball busting. Hard to keep pushing forward on, but I insist on finishing just this one bookmark. That will be the smaller of these two peices. The one on the right. It is halfway done...</div>

It's ultra cool! It was my test pillow. I used some of my Princess Tiana fabric, and had left overs of the pink flannel for the cuff, and the pink and white checks for the trim. I have to say I think it turned out really great! It is from the tutorial by my great inspirational leader and confidence builder, Vanessa at Crafty Gemini. The only pillows I had were king sized. Not sure how that happened, but I guess I need some new standard sized ones! So the end of the king pillow is sticking out, otherwise it would look more normal on a standard. You can get the idea though.<br />

Inside picture of the Kanapaha Presbyterian Church. The members were inside cleaning and decorating for Christmas, and we met a deacon. He showed us some of the upgrades. The ceiling had been redone. There were new buildings. They left the kerosene chandelier in top left of photo. The church is thriving. If we ever move back there, this will be my church!. <br />

This is a huge sinkhole in Gainesville. Called Devil's Millhopper. You walk down a million stairs to the near bottom, and it was full of the most amazing gray, green blue water. I had never seen it with so much water in the 10 years I had lived there (from 1980-1990). It was magical...<br />

I have learned a few good tricks to help with the process. One is to NOT use a hair elastic for the closure. They are round and much harder to sew in and have stay in place. I am using thin flat elastic now. You can get it in white or black and it lays flat. If you take about 5-6 passes over it with the sewing machine, it won't go anywhere. The other trick is to try to get the corners pushed out as well as you can to sew a smoother top stitching around the whole thing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This particular wallet (I am about to reveal a secret here), I had sewn all the way around the outside edge with beige thread. Well, it looked great on the inside where the pockets were a lighter color, but on the outside, where the background was black, you could see the smallest of little stitch messes. Well, here is how I corrected it. I used a thin line black permanent Sharpie pen and basically colored the stitches black!!!!! It worked like a charm....now it looks so much more professional. And adorable, I might add! Check it out in the photos!!!!<br />
I did not get my corners turned well, and that was what caused the sloppy looking stitches. I need to find a way to do it well.<br />
