Just a little hello!

Just a note to say hi.

I am nearly fully recovered from a cold I had this past week. I must say it was the shortest episode of a cold EVER, and I am crediting it to a product called Emergen-C. Have you all tried it? It comes in little packets, and mine were lemon-lime flavored, but they come in a variety of flavors. You just pour the packet into water, or I added mine to a single serve bottle of grapefruit juice also, and it was not bad. These things have 1000 mg. Vit C in each packet, plus a variety of other vitamins and minerals. All I can say is WOWZERS-ZING-BANG-POP...it worked. I am prone to cold always settling in my lungs too, and this one did not do that. It was nearly gone in 2 days, which is a record for me!

Otherwise there is nothing happening here. Quite boring. Went to a book store today to look for a book. Here it is:

You can go to the authors webpage to see a trailer about the book. It looks like it will be a tear jerker...about a love of family...a bond between child and parent. My boss recommended this book to me...I will give it a try, as long as I don't start crying too hard! Believe me, I can blubber like nobody's business!!! LOL.

I trimmed my little portulaca bonsai, and have been watching a lot of movies on TV while recovering. Oh...also visited a little organic/natural food cafe down the street...a new place...and the owner was raised in LA, so there is a lot of California influence in the food...I LOVED IT! Am waiting to go back for breakfast one day to sample to OCEAN OMELET...lobster meat with tomatoes and avacado! YUM!

So glad to hear you are better. I get one cold a year and then I double up on Vit C and it is usually short-lived. knock on wood :)

Hi! Good that you are cured of that nasty cold. The vit.C, and maybe zinc, in your formulation must have done the magic. Here i sip on a composition of ginger lemon tea with a dash of honey added, to get rid of one of the biggest nuisances of all time.

At the first sign of a cold I take 1000mg ofg vitamin c in an effervescent tablet form at four hourly intervals. None has got past that defence for years, I'm pleased to say. Ooops, did I just tempt fate?

Glad you're doing well and having fun 'resting up'.

I've used Emergen-C for years for the large dose of Vitamin C they contain, but really don't know if it helps me with colds as I've never been prone to them to begin with.

The omelet sounds wonderful! I like omlets with sausage or ham instead of lobster, and also with tomatoes, avocado, mild chili and cilantro all mixed in. I guess that's the Arizona influence.

Julie I use EmergenC also! I noticed it seems to work if I take it at the first sign of trouble (i.e. a scratchy throat, itchy ears). It doesn't taste bad straight up, just a little medicin-y so I mix it with a LaCrois flavored sparking water. I use the pink lemnonade and my coworkers use the tangerine. I love it with Lacrois because Lacroix has no sweetener, just the essence of lime (or whatever flavor you choose) but it is fizzy so I end up with a pink leomade and lime fizzy drink that isn't sweet and doesn't taste like vitamins.

Hi Julie
I am soooo glad you are feeling better and you did get away with that cold quickly. Good for you. Its so bad when it gets down into your lungs.

I don't think I could "do" that book. I have a difficult time with tear jerkers especially if it happens to be something with children concerns.

Hope you are enjoying nice weather. Do you live in the West Palm Beach area? My parents used to have a condo in that area and would spend the winters there. My mom is there actually for 2 months renting a spot and visiting with friends...there is a Finnish community in that general area.

Hope the temps are nice.
have a great day
Judi
