This amazing Aeonium is called "Bronze Tea Cup"! I just happen to work on a team at work called Bronze Team....we have all color named teams! Anyway this baby I found at Target tonight has charger plate size head on it!!! It says it will spread to cover a very large area, but I think I would like to keep it in a pot. It is absolutely stunning, and I am so proud to have it...I came right home and got it into a clay pot. OK...introducing...Ms. Bronze Tea Cup.....
What a score! I saw this one at Home Depot & resisted...as I have a couple other large ones (waiting for my decision what to do with them). I also doubt the name as tagged. I know of several Caitlin hybrids, but this isn't one of them. Could be a new one, I suppose! Still ~ a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIt's got quite the dramatic glow thing going. Nice shots, Julie.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of the variety Bronze Tea Cup. It looks like it should be called Bronze Dinner Plate!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this speices rot when the root ball was not large enough and the ground was warm and moist.
They seem to thrive even when somewhat root-bound. So I get a large pot only when the one they are in started tipping over from the weight of the plant.
Mark- thanks for your advice...i will wait to get a bigger pot for a while yet! I hope one day to prepare a rocky/sandy soil and prepare a bed for this plant, where it can really drain well, and get it outside!
