Succulent Tiregarden # 6
Well, now this one I had to think hard on all day to see which of my plants had enough punch to deliver a colorful ending to my series!!! The Ferocactus latispinus seemed to have it going on...so the choice was simple! I added the small black lines to each of the spines at the end and I think it added a bit of SHARP to each one...made them stand out a bit more. I sure hope you like it! I think I do...maybe more than the other just because of the color and also the shape of the round cactus too. Other than the tire that looks like it fell off a 1920 Ford model of some sort, and was found lying in a field since...all mangled!!!
Well, this has been fun...but now I must find some other form of cheap entertainment to keep me enthralled for another short period...who knows...maybe another painting series...or color pencil series...hmmmmm...maybe I should take a class so I could actually know what I am doing!!! LOL...I'm off to ponder....
P.S. Thanks for all of your kind comments!!!
At the risk of sounding "spammy", you should try ArtRage. There's a free version of it. I bet you'd have a lot of fun with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm downloading it now!!! Thanks...will give it a try!
ReplyDeletemy mom mentioned possibly asking you to take a painting class with her...you should call her and see if she wants to do that!!1 You guys would have a great time.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! Wow, I love the way you did the spines.
ReplyDeleteOh, my favorite! Cactus! Wonderful job on this. Can't wait to see what you come with next.
ReplyDeleteYay for visual arts endeavors.
ReplyDeleteYou;re putting me to shame, Julie.
Thanks guys!!!
ReplyDeleteA very well known hobby for nurses who are getting older is " basket weaving." I hear that lessons are offered in a place that makes you feel very safe, and that the instructors keep a watchful eye. They even serve drug "cocktails". The only drawback is it is hard to leave once you get there. You must weave the baskets perfectly before you can go home. LOL Julie.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Sue...but can you believe I already know how to weave baskets!!! Ha ha ha...but the drug cocktail...now that sounds like an interesting side benefit! Just kidding! I have only woven paper baskets, and then painted them...maybe I could weave a wee one tthis afternoon, and put a succulent inside for a pretty little shot!
ReplyDeleteI like it. You've done a great job on this series. You may want to look into Zentangles. (Best to just Google to learn more.) I've considered doing Zentangles, but I'm still trying to finish up the 28 pages for the Alpabet Chunky Book exchange. Hey--that's another idea for you--An ATC for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet--with each letter representing something you choose.
