Quilt show today!

Today I went to a quilt show with my Mom (she loves to quilt, and is very talented in this art form). I do not have any desire to quilt, and feel I probably never will. Why, is something I cannot figure out! I stood around in there as 100's of mostly middle aged and older women perused all of the quilts so happily and excitedly...I tried to figure out what they saw in quilting...and so far, for the life of me I don't get it! I like to look at the finished products, and appreciate them for their beauty and function...but I would not want to do the job myself. ANYWAY...here are a few photos I took of ones I thought you all might like.

  1. Those are lovely! Such great talent. I would love taking a quilt making class, though I don't know how well that would work out since I have no talent when it comes to sewing.

  2. I love quilts. As with any art form, if you think about how much pleasure and satisfaction you get from just looking at them, imagine the joy of creating it, first in your mind, then "bringing it to life" by the skill of your own hands. I think each of us is just inspired to create in different (and sometimes multiple) ways.

Thanks for the bug. Was he part of the desert quilt, because the background fabric looks the same. And can't you just bet that the person who made it is a cactus and bug lover too!

  4. Kat- COOL. It was a great showing of quilts and plenty of ideas for sure! I think my fav quilt block was the little bug above! It's so darn cute...maybe an all bugs quilt would be different and fun!

  6. Gorgeous quilts!

I have ZERO interest in anything that involves sewing. I'm glad people are different; it makes the world work.
