I was walking over to my Moms (about 5 doors down), when I stopped at my cousins house (about 4 doors down)!!! LOL. They came out with their new Jack Russell dog, named Buster! I included a pic of him, cause he is such an angel...and very handsome! I got some good pics of several of the cactus and succulents she is growing in a little side garden that lines her front walkway. I love her red rocks...it looks very western to me! You know how I love my WEST!!!
Your cousin has a fine collection of succulents. How neat, her moon cactus is blooming. I've had my moon cactus for over 4 years now, and not a single flower. I like the pink Euphorbia looking plant on the bottom. It kind of looks like the variegated Elk Horn that I have.
ReplyDeleteBuster is a sweetheart. Very handsome indeed!
Donna- she has the most unusual collection! I wasn't sure if any moon cactus would flower, but maybe they didn't irradiate this type like they do the real brightly colored ones (I think those may become sterile...seems like I read that somewhere). I will have to research that now!!! Yes...I plan on checking the bloom progress every couple of days and get a pic when it opens...looks like it could be fairly BIG!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, each and every one is a beauty! The dog is SO adorable!!! Glad you included him.
ReplyDeleteInteresting cactuses. Her dog looks like a type B Rat Terrier to me, also known as a Teddy (named after Theodore Roosevelt). Of course rat terriers, jack russels, and fox terriers often look alike, especially in photos.

Hope this isn't a repeat - I posted a comment that never showed up.
ReplyDeleteNice cactuses! Her dog looks like a type B (also known as a Teddy) Rat Terrier. They are the shorter legged, longer bodied rat terriers. Of course, rat terriers, jack russels, and mini fox terriers all look so much alike. It's really hard to tell in a photo.

Hey Vickie-WOW...it is amazing how closely they all resemble each other. They found this guy on Petfinders online, and he was listed as a Jack Russell...they were looking for just that, and were so happy when they found him. He is a DOLL...so energetic and fun and sweet. It is so worth it to give a rescue dog a chance!!!
ReplyDeleteI see your comments were just a few minutes apart...I have mine set to be moderated...so it could take me a while to find them...I usually check out my blog 1-3 times a day, depending on what else is happening! LOL..Happy to see you! Happy to have found your blog...it's great!
Well, if they ended up with a Rat Terrier, they got a better dog :) I have two of them and they are a great breed. A litle calmer than a JRT yet still an active and smart breed. I LOVE them. I hope they have many years of love with their new buddy. vickie
ReplyDeleteWell...that is interesting about the dogs...all I know is that they just love him...sounds like the Rat Terriers are really awesome! I never knew about them before! Maybe I could get one for my next dog...in at least 12 years from now!!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteA lovely array of cacit and succulents....the dog is very cute too ~ :)
