My new bamboo lantern

Here are a few pics of the new bamboo lamp/light/lantern I bought from a guy who hand cuts the bamboo, and drills a pattern in the tube with his drill, then places all different colors of rope lights all up inside. Mine has a multicolored rope light with green, yellow, blue and pink colors in it...he does make them all one color too. He also had three different sizes, but I splurged and got the largest one. I just fell in love with his idea and designs. He had the display set up with a tent made of black cloth, and then had all his lamps hanging and lit up in there, and it was very dramatic. I still haven't really found the perfect place for mine yet, but I will. I may place it on a stand on the floor, becuase it is so long, it would make a very dramatic floor lamp!

  3. Thanks, guys!!! Yes, it can be used outside, since the rope lighting is waterproof...only thing is...I am still scared to try it here, because of the humidity...it would probably still develope mildew inside...of course, it could be cleaned too...you just pull out the rope lighting, clean, and re-push it all back in...it is just folded back and forth, the length of the bamboo, and then put up inside. It is an awesome thing, I tell ya!

  6. Very pretty! Have you ever checked out the fairy name generator. It's great fun, and there's a code to put on your blog if you so desire.

  8. Julie, that is just so cool. I can't tell if you have it hanging inside the door or outside the door. Inside would be fine because you could still see it from outside.

Love your side bar photos, they are amazing! I love succulents, the colored marbles and shells are a great idea, I have lots of both here and will have to try this.

  10. Melanie! Hello!!! How nice of you to come over! Thanks for the nice comments! My light is actually just outside my sliding glass door, in my screen room, but I am thinking I will move it indoors...just because I would like to look at it more often than not!!! I think it would be cool to have three smaller ones to hang out in my big tree in the backyard when I am having a BBQ or lite up the firepit!
