You know, I've always just seen the "wild Florida" part of the state as one big mass of scrubs, sea grapes, and pines...but I was, and have been recently, (over the past year of occasionally hiking with my husband) amazed at the beautiful flowers, fungi and even wildlife and insects, shells, etc. that I have come upon. I think it has been something that has happened for me since the advent of my digital camera. That is so sad. Why couldn't I see all of this before? Now, I find, photograph, and come home and watch my cameras memory card on my daughter's Wii, in a slideshow. It is so easy now to see them in that large format on my TV screen. I can really see when my picture is REALLY out of focus, too, and go ahead and delete it right then. Well, as soon as I get it back into my camera that is (I can't do it on the Wii). I am grateful to my digital camera for this change in me. I think I may have to make a habit of going on his weekly hikes with him now. I slow him down a lot, but hopefully he will let me tag along! These are some of the wildflowers I shot during our time at Jonathan Dickenson State Park last weekend. What an array. Sorry, I know not names...and for now, that is OK with me, because I have been having a very busy, hectic week at work, and can hardly think past that at this point. Enjoy!
Tis indeed wildflower season in places beyond the desert! These are really beauties. I know what you mean about really looing.
ReplyDeleteYay for digital cameras because that means more photos from Julie!
ReplyDeleteI love all these pics...and the little details are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDigital camera are so wonderful...I still have my old 35mm camera, and she works, but sadly she has been retired for a long time...
Just out of curiousity, what kind of camera do you have?
ReplyDeleteI have a cheap Nikon Cool Pix camera! I need an upgrade, definately!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've had 3 coolpix's. I really like them, especially the ones that have a swiveling lens. Make sure your next camera has a good macro feature.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love my digital camera as you can tell by all the blog posts I do! Even my daughter is getting into it using the camera on her phone. She's picked up some really cool photos. One of them was of her own shadow that she used as backdrop to her phone. Really cool!
