My mind is on my work...I can't even fall asleep and it is now 4am!!! We had a big layoff last week, and today they were still moving people around within the company...it is scary the way things are going with the economy. I just heard they are laying off 6000 people from the postal service nationwide. Stores are closing here. We are more thrifty, and this is causing a collapse. You can't help but wonder what is next, or when will it end.
I have had 3 ballbusting days at work in general, and I am exhausted. Probably why I can't even fall asleep. Wish me luck...I'm gonna go give it a shot!
I'm sorry to hear that... the best advice I can give is to try not to worry too much. Stress and worry actually creates problems and solves very few. Plus, when I worked in offices, the person who was sitting around fretting and whining was the first to go...
ReplyDeleteWish I could give better advice...
Julie, you need some hugs and prayers and I am sending them your way.............
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear all the bad news. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Vickie
ReplyDeleteJulie, I'm sorry to hear about the layoffs. It's so stressful even when it doesn't happen to you. Hang in there, friend.
ReplyDeleteThese are uneasy times. All you can do is take it one day at a time, and try to find small things to bring you joy every day. (I know you already do that)
ReplyDeleteReading always makes me sleepy. And Boston Legal. I've never been able to stay awake through that show. Seriously.
I'm so sorry things are so awful at your workplace... I know how stressful layoffs can be. I will be sending good thoughts and positive energy your way!
ReplyDeleteI always find that a cup of Celestial Seasonings 'Tension Tamer' tea helps me unwind and relax my way to bed readiness... maybe it will work for you too! :)
isn't it crazy how stress gets to us, we may think that we are quite impervious to it, but none of us are. is your job at risk? i always feel so sorry for people in this situation. this hardly ever affects teaching, so i have never felt it.
ReplyDeletesomeone once told me that if you are having insomnia, you should get up and do some ironing, and you will never have insomnia again. what an idiot!!
The lay offs are everywhere. One of my friends is a admin at your agency; additionally, I am friends with a few therapists.
ReplyDeleteThese are scary times! I don't have any advice about sleeping-I have tried everything-refuse prescriptions though... Good Luck!!!
ReplyDeleteyou have to sleep. HAVE to sleep or you'll get run down. it helps to relax when i go and check on my little lovelies one more time before trying to go back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteWe have similar situations here in Oz too. :( Times are definitely getting more tough. Try not to worry though. Think positive. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and sending lots of positive vibes your way. (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your supportive comments...I am OK, just a little burned out with work and life...but ever onward! Watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics tonight...gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone have a wonderful weekend!!!
