We have a new restaurant in town, called Shorty's BBQ, and the first night we stopped there, we met the manager and several of the wait staff...outside first...when we noticed quite quickly that they had these cute cactus gardens set up all along the front edge of the building! (Sorry the first pic is so blurry, but wanted to include it so you can see the row of these things)! They (the manager and other staff) were standing outside when we walked up, and of course I had to comment on the cactus. I was concerned because half of them were up under cover in the shade all day. She was watering them once a week. I thought maybe once every 2-4 weeks might be better...and of course, we got to talkin. These are the nicest people. We enjoyed not only them, but the restaurant is so cute with country BBQ decor, and the food is succulent...specially those ribs!!!
Anyway...it has become our new favorite hangout (I will probably gain at least 100 pounds over the next few months)!!! LOL!
The manager has an outdoor seating area, with tables that were made from barrels. When they cut the tops off the barrels to attach the table tops, she came up with the idea for the cactus gardens made from the cut off tops! Genius! They were an immediate hit with me!
Since I do not know the names of these cute babies, I will just allow you to enjoy all the cactus textures! I love my textures!
Love all your succulent posts! My cacti are getting too big for the pot I put the original seeds into...and am a little nervous to transplant them....any suggestions? I don't want to risk them dying...I started them from seed...will post a photo soon

ReplyDeleteTootsie- Don't be nervous! Just have good drainage...use cactus soil, and they will do great! I would love to see your seedlings!
