Hi everyone! Hope you are all continuing to have a wonderful holiday season! I am off through New Years Day, which is GREAT! My daughter, Mom and I are planning an antiquing trip tomorrow somewhere. We just sort of start driving and end up somewhere!!!
Wanted to show you what I purchased at our local green market today! Miniature bromeliads in a pot. I loved the color. The seller told me the type of bromeliad thay are, and I must investigate them. He said they will not get big, and can even put out their offsets in the same small pot. I was thinking I would need to repot them in time, but he said no. It will be a lot off fun to see what happens.
Are they not the cutest things youv'e ever seen? I have it in my kitchen window, of course! Everything else got moved to a new location, so this show stopper could have center stage!!! He showed me how to water them and how often, so I am optimistic that I might not kill them!!! :)
Wish me luck!
Julie

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful brom Julie. I think you will have great luck with it. I have had one for several years. It isn't looking too good right this minute but hopefully it will hang on until I can put it back outside this summer. HCM and have fun out antiquing.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I hope you find some delightful little goodies on your antiquing trip ~ and if you should ~ do share some pics!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a Merry Christmas Ms. Julie! And May you have a Very Happy New Year as well! :)
you are my hero! I can't keep these alive for anything!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you have a very happy new year...I have some succulent questions and will be posting them in the new year...my christmas cactus is looking more "pokey" than I have seen before and I am wondering if it is something else!
Happy new year!
Good luck with your brom, Julie. I bought one a few months ago, and it's still alive so I'm encouraged. I usually don't have much luck with houseplants. The top part seems a little dry, and I'm wondering if I should give it some water of its own apart from the rest of the plant? Can you share some of the advice the vendor gave you on brom care?
ReplyDeleteYou have the magic touch when it comes to plants, Julie, so I have every confidence that this cute, little bromeliad is in good hands. my parents used to grow a few varieties of the standard sizes...very attractive flowers. it's my understanding that the 'adult' plants start to die back as new ones come forth but I may be wrong.
ReplyDeleteGood luck ~
Julie, that's an awesome plant.
