Turning to altered art!

Well, I know this is gonna make you say "What they heck, enough is enough of her darn sketchbook already"!!! BUT.....OK...last night I decided to make and place a butterfly on each page too. I know it is weird, but the happiness I am having by adding a butterfly is measurable! So thought I would show you what I did. I know this first one, I should have cut out more precisely, but I kinda liked having the paper be on there too...a little different. These butterlies are all drawn using milky or gel pens on white sketch paper, then cut out and glued into my sketchbook. I am just enjoying the gel pens more than microns! I added some sparkle to areas also...

How bout a little tiny guy for a breast landing!!! LOL!

And a beautiful blue butterfly!

Claude had some interesting ideas for a round thing starting with D...(door knob or drum)...but I think it may have to be donut!!! It is calling me...what can I say?

  1. I really like your butterfly concept. This could be the butterfly sketchbook. I am lucky I don't get the donut craving very often. Maybe once or twice per year.

  2. Lisa- luckily, I am not having a craving to eat one, only to draw one!!! LOL! I think it will be quite festive, with sprinkles for Mothers Day!

  4. Gel pens are such fun! I love to use colored pencil and sometimes mix in markers of some kind. Like you I tend to do small sketchy drawings. Mine are often in my sketchbook journals. Recently I've been doing this in a new journal about our new house. I've been drawing some of the lizzards out there!

  6. Interesting idea.. actually, sinces its in the nature of a nature/spiritual journal--it wouldn't be a bad idea.. but right now-- not likely to hit the top 100 things I have to do list. ;)
