Cactus Heart Monday!

Happy Cactus Monday!

I became entralled with the Milagros Hearts fellow blogger Margaret, of Water Blossoms has been making, and when I saw this cactus in full bloom (a print), I had an urge to make one of my own, but shaped into a sort of heart! I used my Sharpies, and went over the bit of white with my white PenTouch. I like it...I really love the crosshatching on the cactus body! I thought it gave it a more stickly sort of texture! I think I can touch up the flowers a little more, but am in a hurry to post so I can get on with the day!
I hope you enjoy it!

xoxo- Julie

  9. Hearts are always good to draw. The cross hatching works well to give it a definitional look. HCM, Judy

  13. Thanks for the smile, Julie! And for the visit. I've not been much for blogging lately, but I'm glad I stopped by and saw your art work. You gave the cactus a lot of texture with that technique.

  14. Really beautiful. You are really good with Sharpies. Anything I try with them appears to be paint-by-numbers quality. What's your secret?
