A semi-decent pic of the Sansevieria in my backyard. This variety has at least a bit of texture colorwise, and I find it more attractive than the other plain ones. This is my photo for Cactus Monday. I wish I had a drawing or painting to go with it, but I ran out of time, sadly.
Here is page 7 of my Financial Dream Journal (including the cover). It is being recycled from a Financials Market Report, to an art journal. It has 160 pages, and I am on page 7. I am enjoying covering up the financial information, and turning it into whatever else I wish. The pic below has a hand drawn wording and ribbon, which is colored with watercolor pencils. Then I cut a palm tree trunk out of a magazine and made cuts up the page to thread the tree up and through the page.
Then I added more magazine flowers, a road with a car, a house and a cat. It has just enough going on that I could call it DONE. I covered it with a coat of Modge Podge to seal everything together, as I have done with all the previous pages.
This is just something I do for fun and to relax. The process is what I love.
This afternoon, after a long hard rain for most of the afternoon, we took the grandkids for a walk around the neighborhood, and with all of the rain, snails were everywhere. My daughter was in heaven. She collected about 30 and came home and put them in a bug house. The grands enjoyed seeing them. She released them after a few hours, and after I had gotten a couple of pics (they were very hard to photograph for some reason). My daughter has loved snails since around 2nd grade...and she still does, at age 20!
Hi Julie, HCM. THe book is looking great. Seems like you are having loads of fun with it.
ReplyDeleteI realllly like this new page in your financial pages. You are so creative Julie. Happy Cactus Monday. Snails, yuck. I sure wouldn't encourage them in my garden. Of course I don't have White Ibis to come through occasionally and relieve the garden of so many of them.
ReplyDeleteHello, This is Aniko@ArtIsTree. I am here to say that you made me happy...you wrote so many comments... wow. You could spend a lot of time with my stuff... :-))) Thank you. And welcome. And I came to see your cactuses also. I love your Journal page! They are WONDERFUL!

Howdy!
ReplyDeleteThose financial pages look fun... who would have thought a prospectus would inspire creativity... I haven't had a danged thing to post about for entirely too long. Nothing inspiring, and I've been too busy, but I guess I should just try harder. I'll see what I can find today...
BTW... I hate to hurt your daughters feelings, and I can appreciate her fascination with things others consider a nuisance... but if anybody released snails into my garden, I'm afraid I'd have to stomp them flat and might seriously consider going after her... I'm just mean that way...
hey you are on fire girlfriend since you started working, more to do and yet more time to do it in.
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative Julie, you inspire me. I've seen a sans with that marking before, certainly better than the plain green ones.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie
ReplyDeleteSnails...that was a lot of snails to collect! Isn't that something that she still likes to do that.
Love your journal. You sure do get lots of financial journals and what a bonus because you can have so much creativity with them.
Love your plant too.
hope this is a good week so far.
Judi
I don't relax when I try doing art-Must mean I'm not an artist! Your book is great!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be here late Julie.
ReplyDeleteA financial market report and it's 160 pages, that great. I am glad to witness your joy on creation. Thank you to show us the welcoming page.
Certainly, the great potential behind creation is to grow and appreciate your dream, putting into exercise, this is call positive thinking. Thw way to live a better and happier life!
The snail family look cool too. The light texture brown really made them popped up! He..He..
Wow love that succulent. And your journal is going strong. I just love it. I used to have a large box turtle named Otis. His favorite thing to eat besides worms were snails. He was quite a gourmet eater! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, keep her out of French restaurants - she will be heartbroken! LOL
