In one of the areas where there are Gloriosa Lilies growing, this magnificent creature climbed it's way out through a mass of ferns and gloriosas...growing taller and taller, with beautiful slender tendrelling leaves everywhere! It looks like a firework explosion to me! Gorgeous! But...what is it??? The leaves are thinner and more abundant than the Gloriosa, and the Gloriosa stem is green...this has an almost black stem! Anyone have any ideas????? Whatever it is, I LOVE IT!!!!!
Wow, what a treasure to just pop up. I have no idea what it is. It must be a tropical.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is, but I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this plant too, such beautiful detials!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Julie, sorry to be here lately, I am getting ready for holidays!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a look through my books, and the only thing I can find that is similar is a swamp lily. Does it grow from a bulb.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most exquisite finds in your wonderful garden. This is so beautiful.
ReplyDeletePS I added some more of your beads on a new pocketbook today!
ReplyDeleteShirley- I am thinking it must be a tuber like the gloriosa, but don't want to pull it up quite yet to see!!! :) Thanks for trying to look it up...i am still researching too!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. That would make a beautiful painting. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Somehow this looks familiar to me but I can't quite remember where I have seen something like it. What is in the very center? Is it just another ring of leaves. Do you think the leaves are chlorotic?
ReplyDeleteLancashire Rose- They do look chlorotic, but I couldn't say for sure, I suppose. I have discovered s few plants that look variegated too...it's all very weird.....
ReplyDeleteCan help you with the name but it sure is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting flower or whatever it is! Isn't it cool when something like this happens. I wonder if birds dropped a seed?
