The leprechauns are playing at my house!

I noticed shamrocks growing in my yard, so thought I would share a few pics! I like the ones growing right next to the tire...the green against the black is beautiful!!!

This inspired Donovan (age 6), and I, to do some chalk paintings. You might think that long thing there might look like a crack, but no...that is some serious lightening that has helped to form our rainbow! Hehehe.

Here are a couple of close up's of our St. Patty's Day tree...the paper flower I made from a white coffee filter and green watercolor brushed on outer edges of the flower. We added birds (from the dollar store), a shamrock necklace Donovan brought home from school, a shamrock made of green yarn and gold glitter, a few love notes from Donovan, and some shamrock package wire wrap, some sprays of shamrock flowers (dollar store), plus the paper shamrock we made from a toilet paper roll. As time has gotten closer, we have added more and more (a lot of which has been sent home from school with the boy)! It has been fun to watch it all come together for him. Of course, our cute woven paper basket with rainbows, and filled with gold is sitting under the tree, too.

Here is the pic I printed out to use as our guide to draw our chalk Leprechaun!

  3. You all really go out for St Patty's and everything looks so nice and green. Donovan is becoming quite the artist! Maybe you should teach him to keep a journal of all the fun things you do.

  5. Super cute stuff as always! You would make a really great preschool teacher Julie. Probably doesn't pay as well as nursing--but my gosh you're gifted with grand kids!

  7. You are just having too much fun with Donovan. Ilove seeing the shamrocks. I will have to see if any are in our garden. Some might have thawed out enough to show themselves.
