For Mothers Day I found this amazingly beautiful bright orange ruffled single hibiscus for my Mom's walking buddy!!! My Mom never believed too much in cut flowers, as they die so quickly, but she loved plants that could be planted and enjoyed for years to come. When I discovered this one in a gallon bucket at Lowes, I knew it was Mom telling me to buy it for her friend, Bert. This is a picture of what I believe the hibiscus actually looked like, but I can't be sure...I had thought it was a double hibiscus, but now think it was a ruffled single. I sure love this bright orange one!!! This pic is from
Hidden Valley Nature Arts.
Hibiscus, actually, grow well in Oregon. They are beautiful. How's the new job going?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hibiscus for your mom... Lovely gesture...:) I used to find these in large numbers back home but recently it has become rare.
ReplyDeleteI love hibiscus! Too bad the flowers only last for one day :/
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Julie. I'd love to try to paint it. I imagine Mom's Day was not so easy for you. I thought of you and do. I send warm hugs to help ease the grief. I hope your loving memories will make the days pass easier and easier as time goes by.
ReplyDeleteSweet you gifted Bert. More hugs.
Hi Julie *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThat hibiscus IS the same colour as my roses you're right! How beautiful. I don't think I've seen one that colour. What a beautiful plant. I haven't had one of those in years...but wish I did. Maybe I should check out our Lowes.
hope you've had a grreat day and had a lovely Mother's Day.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment. I just love my girls card. She has been so busy at school and I was expecting a store bought one. It was a real surprise. Glad you like the rose photos.
Have a beautiful day.
Beautiful and also so you!
ReplyDeleteI love it when you get messages like these. In the beginning the connection is still there.
