Well, here is an all-too-familiar story. The one where you just feel compelled to stop somewhere on your way home from work, just to sort of check out the succulents, and maybe a new pot. Yeah, yeah, yeah...and then you know what happens. I found a nice pot for burying my crested baby, but I also found another crested baby (just like mine), so decided to plant two. Here they are with their stalks buried, to become giant roots. BTW, the new plant I bought was calling my name because it was sitting in a bag of water because they were in an open area, and it has rained every evening for the past week. I HAD to. Had to. Had to. I think they look real nice sharing their new pot together. Of course I removed all of that wet soil around the roots of the new plant, so it is so happy now. I am happy for them both!
Here is a littel orange colored lizard that Doozey and I found on our walk tonight. It is hard to see just how orange he was...he was a sort of bright rust color...quite pretty.
And last I got a shot of Doozey saying "Please don't take me in the house...I want to contine on my smell-o-walk"! That is what we call our leisurely walks where she is allowed to stop and smell all those lovely doggy smells around the neighborhood. When she gets back home again, she stops in her tracks outside on the sidewalk, and refuses to walk to the front door...she has to be carried up, because no good walk can ever last long enough!!!
Looks good! Keep us updated on how it turns out...
ReplyDeleteAh, how sweet. Miss Lullabelle and her matching lizard. She is so cute. I love the crested pets too.
ReplyDeleteshe is saying "if I don't look directly at her...maybe she will put that camera away and keep walking"....lol
ReplyDeleteI am so releived that I am not the only one that is compelled to buy a new plant once and a while. I have had the urge all week, and tomorrow I will be caving in to that urge. I have no self control...lol
love the succulents!
well, it definitely looks better without that green trunk. It should continue growing without a hitch... if you had cut it to re-root, everything would have stopped until it started to root.
ReplyDeleteI think you're spoiling Doozey rotton. But that is as it should be...
Thanks everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteso good of you to rescue the crested baby from a watery grave! :) I'd have done it too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know what you mean. I rarely can walk out of a plant shop with nothing in my hands! That's funny about Doozey refusing to go back into the house. We're babysitting a friends dogs while they are away in Cancun, Mexico, (lucky ducks!). They have a Corgy and a Dachsund dog. The Corgy, named Tag, loves to swim. OMG...you should see him dive into the water. We've been having so much fun with their cute personalities!
ReplyDeleteJulie - you have such a wonderful garden! Very unusual and beautiful! And I love name of your dog - Tangle Saturnglitter. Bigger then dog! :) Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGood, it's not just me then. Whew. I thought I was the only one who couldn't control themselves around succulent plants. Everything is looking rosie around your spot including Lullabelle. Had to say that I started my own blog and hope to have some pics up very soon. I hope you don't mind that I added your much valued blog to my own. I don't know what I would do with all these new babies if you weren't around.
ReplyDeletePS I LOVED your "Fungus Walk" the other day. Such magnificent things grow where we aren't looking. Thanks for showing me what I am missing.
That little lizard is adorable, but not as cute as Doozie of course.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when those plants call your name and tug at your shoes?!
Lenka...you found my FAIRY name!!! You can go to that link and it will tell you your FAIRY name...mine is Tangle Saturnglitter! My little doggy is named Doozey!!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teri!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my blog. Glad you like my little Dotee doll, you should join Stitchin Fingers and take a look at the group called cloth dolls, it's all about Dotees at the moment.
ReplyDeleteYour Doozey is so sweet, I know what you mean when they don't want to come inside again, Rufus and Millie would spend all night outside reading 'wee-mails'! Your succulents are lovely, never had much fun growing them, but of course we are in the wrong part of the world for them to be successful.
Ohh and your ATCs are fabulous!
Rosie x
Thanks to you and Claude,I am going to try and plant my two like that. The ones I have are red and yellow tops! Doozey whispered that... he wants to live with me!
ReplyDeletePudgeDuck- LOLOL...my Doozey is such a traitor...she just said how much she loves me...and now I find out this!!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your two planted now...this is fun!!!
It isn't a splurge if you it is a rescue mission. The plant wouldn't have LIVED without you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on yet another gorgeous addition to your home....I'm sure the crested baby will be very happy and well loved.
ReplyDeleteThat lizard is way cute!
I've tried planting crested cactus along with the scions and haven't had much luck. Perhpaps you will!
ReplyDeleteAt one time I had several of these crested Euphorbias planted in my garden. They did great for a couple of years, and both were trampled by the landscape maintenence people I have over occasionally. They do more damage to my cactus than the weather!
