Of course, first, I woke up to the cutest dog in the universe (well, ok...all of you all have the cutest pets in the universe...kitties, bunnies, turtles, birds, etc.)!!! We played and just sorta layed around together a while. (Best part...the laying around).
My hubby went out to mow the lawn, and I decided to wrap and decorate my son's birthday present. Here are a few shots of it....a little hard to figure out because I wrapped it with comics from the newspaper, and then to make the card and tag, I cut up a Sephora bag, which is black and SHINY...perfect for a man! He and his wife love the felines, so I put a tiger cat on the front, and sewed a little heart charm under his chin! I had a hole punched in the center at the top for attaching ribbon, but I ended up having to cut some of the side of the card off, and then the hole was not in the center...so I filled it with just one clear rhinestone stud. I think he will love it when he sees it. I made a long thin card (just the right size for a check) to match! I am hoping he can take his family out for a nice dinner on his B-day! Or maybe not...since their baby girl is due on Sept. 10, and his B-day is Sept. 14! They may not want to go out that soon...but I hope he will have a wonderful birthday whenever they can celebrate!
After this, my hubby, mom, daughter and friend all went to lunch at a really great Italian place called Brio. It was so nice. They had brunch items, so I had roasted turkey crepes, with roasted potatos and a fruit cup. Delish! All of us girls wanted to walk the mall, so my husband came home, and then waited for us to call, and came back to pick us up! While we were there, we passed through Macy's furniture department, and I found the neatest wall hangings (the two together were a flowering cactus). The funny part is that I immediately LOVED the wall hanging, even before I fully realized what I was looking at! Ha ha ha. I only had my cell phone camera, and took a pic with it. Here is what I got:
Now it is 7:15pm, and I forgot to tell you that I drew an amazing submission for Cactus Monday, and I feel I even kinda surprised myself that I actually drew this, and that I love it. You know...after seeing these wallhangings today, and realizing that I really can improve and possibly even do some good artwork...I may try and do a few cactus wallhangings myself one day! Gonna keep on trucking! Hope you all have a great Sunday evening, and I will see you in the morning with my amazing cactus drawing! LOL...
Julie
your camera phone photo is working for me
ReplyDeleteYour photo doesn't show up. Just blank! (the Cactus Monday one. The little doggie photo is fine.)

Can't see your picture. It's giving me the red X.
ReplyDeleteI re-posted that particular picture...hopefully you can all see it now! I had to stand at the end of a bed to take the shot, so you see the headboard in there...wish I could have gotten closer!
ReplyDeletewonderful day and wonderful family. can't wait to see the photos of your new granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Soul B---I can't wait to see her either (new granddaugher)!!! Her name has already been given to her...
ReplyDeleteEmily June! Beautiful.
Sounds like you had a great day, Julie! Neat and clever idea for wrapping your son's gift too. Yes, we will all be hanging out to see your new granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI thought you might be interested to know that my neighbours were told they were having a little girl but they actually had a little boy instead, only a couple of months ago.
Oh Serena! No way!!! LOL. So far she has had several sonos and they have said girl each time...sure hope they are right...or we will have a lot of pink stuff to return!!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteaww I love the wrapping!!! So cool! You're so crafty!!! We shall see what we can swing for his bday. I may be just getting out of the hospital, so who knows. I'm so excited and nervous...even though this is my second go-round lol...And oh no to the comment about having a little boy instead of a girl hahaha...well...like you said, all the ultrasounds have read girl everytime and since we do so many of them these days, I think we are good...if not, "Emile Juno" will have some identity crisis hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteLOL...well, thankfully, you got your little granddaughter, Julie. CONGRATULATIONS to you and, of course, the proud parents.
