Today I got the family tea towel that hangs on my pantry door, updated with Emily's name (our newest granddaughter)! Just a note to our children...I still have room for more names!!! Hint, hint, hint!!! LOL.
WOW! What a fantabulous idea! You mentioned getting the teatowel updated with Emily's name so....question....do you have it professionally done or do you do this yourself?
Serena- the tea towel came into being by my sort of taking over a little kit my daughter recieved as a gift. It had all kinds of different iron-on patterns...I just peiced together some of the designs and started embroidering them! Then I just freehandedly put me and my husbands name, and all the kids. It stayed like that until the grands came along, and I have added each name as they arrived! It has been a lot of fun. It has been hanging on my pantry door for so long I was afraid to wash it, but I did...before I added Emily's name! Thank God it has continued to hold up! I guess someone can throw it in the trash when I die, but not till then!!! LOL
What a beautiful tradition!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting idea. You should make a tea towel for each grand. That would be a wonderful wedding or first home gift.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely delightful!!!
