Well, here it is Monday night, and I got home from work and decided to just go around and hunt for any cactus I owned, for Cactus Monday! I added in one Euphorbia, for good measure (not a cactus, but kinda looks like one)...LOL!
Is this Horse Crippler, Claude???
Happy Cactus Monday at 6:10pm Monday!
Very Nice collection! some of them looks unreal!
ReplyDeleteThese are great Julie. I really like the one that looks like a staghorn fern. Happy Cactus Monday.
ReplyDeleteWow that is Cactus Monday Through Sunday! Lovely plants!!!
ReplyDeleteNope... that's one of the ferocactus, I think... Maybe F. gracilis? Not overly familiar with the feros though... I do know that they can become pretty good sized, you've got an immature one there...
ReplyDeleteNope, I take that back... more likely to be a Ferocactus latispinus ssp. latispinus, Devil tounge barrel... That's the best I can do. Maybe Aiyana knows better...
ReplyDeleteOh you have lots of them! What is that second one called?? I was just looking at my neighbor's and wondered what it was and here you show one. Please tell me!!
ReplyDeleteHCM!!! and good to be back online.
Well Happy Cactus Monday to you Julie! Hello to sweet little Doozey too. I see you have been a busy lady and are still the reigning succulent queen. I intend to stay around for awhile, and it is so nice to be in touch with you again!
ReplyDeleteTeri- the second pic down is called an Opuntia microdasys, or common name "Bunny Ears"! It used to be a prettier shade of green all over, but it is darkening in it's older age (a few years).
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures. The second one is down is my favorite -- although the first one is beautiful too! Never mind, I just looked at them again and they are all incredible. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHey Julie, I knew you would do it! And it is still Monday :-) here in Nashville, TN - USA
ReplyDeleteWhat a collection you have here... Absolutely beautiful! Will be back for inspiration.
Isn't the 2nd one down an Opuntia Basilaris, common name Beavertail Cactus. That is the one I did a sketch of for today...
Wishing you a late HCM and a wonderful week.
Wow you have quite a collection!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Cactus Monday!
Julie,
ReplyDeleteIt's a Ferocactus latispinus ssp. latispinus, commonly called Crow's Claw Cactus, or as Claude mentioned, Devil's Tongue Barrel.
Aiyana
great pictures! I like the seashells contrasting with the cactus in the one pot- I have boxes of seashells I picked up in Mexico at the beach- I'll have to put some to use.
ReplyDeleteYou have some that I have not seen before. Your christmas cactus is very healthly looking. Love to see a photo when it's in bloom. Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteoh my oh my oh my, what beauties.
ReplyDeletehappy belated Cactus Monday! I love the first pic best!! gee ...I am late...but oh well!
ReplyDeleteI believe Doozey would love the busy buddy and the small one would probably be just right for her. If not, they have a puppy version but chihuahua can really chew if they want. Those needle sharp teeth and all!
ReplyDeletewow, we got ALL your cacti for cactus monday! This comment is sorta like Christmas in July...HCM on Wed nite!
ReplyDeleteHUGS!
PS your comment about my cat made me laugh out loud. She is very sweet, actually...and yes, admittedly a bit psycho...but all cats are.
:)
