Updates on 2 things...

If you liked seeing that glass top table made out of a terracotta planter with succulents inside...I just found an article done by Sunset, with a photo, and directions on how to make one HERE!!!
This one you have to lift the glass off every few days for a few hours to let condensation evaporate, but I would rather have my top raised somehow all of the time so air could get in...I WILL think of something!!!

Did not get to the shuttle landing, but they did land safely and I have been watching the NASA Channel on satellite tv, and I saw the landing, and a news conference with the crew. The female astronaut, Mission Specialist Sandy Magnus, had to rest after landing, since she had been at the International Space Station for 129 days, but I cannot wait to hear her speak of her experiences! You can read all about it at www.nasa.gov

  3. I'm thinking that if you would get some beads or marbles glued to the top of the pot, and then set the glass on top of that... you could use 3 or 4 evenly spaced, either in terra cotta to match the pot or in clear glass or plastic to match the glass... they wouldn't be that noticable. Gorilla glue would be strong enough to hold it... or you could use silicone glue, which is clear, strong enough, and wouldn't be toxic to the plants in any way...

    just a thought.

  5. Julie, how about using those flat marble things to create a gap between the top of the table and the terrierium? Those things you buy in a bag at Michael's and people put in clear vases.

I think we may ahve heard a sonic boom from the landing - I am not sure but the timing seems right. It's been so windy that at first we thought a tree branch hit the house!

  6. It would seem to me that all you would have to do is put little rubber feet between the glass and the rim of the container which the glass will be sitting on to get enough air that you don't have to move the glass daily. Have fun with this.

  8. Go to www.eastdallasartgardens.blogspot.com and search for my post - Santa Monica Wedding/Mailbu Garden. Scroll down to the succulent pot/table. You'll see there are little round dots to keep the glass elevated letting air in.
