EDM#2-Draw a lamp!
I probably shouldn't have picked out such a complex lamp...it is small, but detailed. It took me a lot longer than the shoe and was a lot harder. There is no precision here...all in #2 pencil. No color...althought the body of the lamp is a sort of bronzy gray, and the mid-section is glass with cut design. The shade is beige. I thought adding the cord was a cute touch for such a rediculously done lamp! Oh well...it was interesting, and I am finding these relaxing to do at the end of the day. If anyone wants to join us, who doesn't already do them (maybe you, Lisa)??? Please do. It takes something you might never attempt and makes it easy for you... no matter how it turns out...just do it!!! Easy.
Oh Julie I did that in May. You will have such fun with it. Now for June I am taking Laure Ferlita of Painted Thoughts Blog's Foundations of Watercolor Journals class on line. So far very fun. Love your EDM 1 also.
ReplyDeleteI am tempted. I like this attempt by you.
ReplyDeleteI like your style of drawing, Julie. I'm glad you're doing it. Would you post a link to these challenges? I looked last night, but didn't see where you got them. (If you already posted it and I missed it...sorry!)

That is really neat Julie. I like the zinnia that you have at the header of you blog. Keep it up. : )
ReplyDeleteI struggled with the lamp after the shoe too! I love the way you put the cord in too. Helps to balance it all out.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed, Julie! It's wonderful to see you sketching ~ :)
ReplyDeleteYou have really good shading skills! Keep up the great drawings! I need to post some of mine on my blog, I love to draw and shading is my specialty :)
