This post is for all, but especially for Evelyn over at Sensational Succulents since she particularly likes her pink plants!!!! Three shots of my Euphorbia lactea, with tips turning pink in the fall sun! So sweet! This plant was in the screenroom, but was moved out in full sun in a cactus tire a few months back and this is what is happening.
Then a few more shots of okra buds! Sorry...I know you are probably sick of seeing okra and flowers, but these sideways shots show how pretty they are with the red coloration showing on the outer bud. These could possibly be the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen, closed or open (and minus the aphids)...I AM IN LOVE!
P.S. The aphids are non-stop, and I have had to spray weekly with insecticidal soap, or a mixture of soap and water to attempt to keep them at bay. They are persistant and a real pain in the butt!
I like how the Euphorbia lactea has that pretty pink edge.

The Pinkish discoloration on top of the cacti is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSometimes close ups bring forth a beauty which otherwise would have gone unappreciated - the Okra bud is looking beautiful, minus the aphids of course:-)
Your pink edged succulent is pretty. I can see why you like the okra blooms so much. They give you not only beauty but turn into a yummy treat. HCM.

ReplyDeleteNope, never get tired of looking a plants. I'm the same way with mine. I love to take photos of them and try at different times of the day and of course different angels. They are pretty to look at and a great source of inspiration. Love your little drawing below. Very cute and a lot of little detail there too. Wow those succulents are beautifully designed. Hmm, that okra is really pretty also. I can honestly say I have never tatted okra and you make me feel like I am missing something.

Mariuanne- the Euphorbia is a succulent and the edge that is pink has non-sharp protrusions! No danger here!!! :)

ReplyDeleteIsn't that something about the darn aphids...I have never grown okra so I didn't know that. That is a major pain to have them reappear like that. I'm glad you are keeping them under control.
