Happy Cactus Monday!
This post is for all, but especially for Evelyn over at Sensational Succulents since she particularly likes her pink plants!!!! Three shots of my Euphorbia lactea, with tips turning pink in the fall sun! So sweet! This plant was in the screenroom, but was moved out in full sun in a cactus tire a few months back and this is what is happening.
Then a few more shots of okra buds! Sorry...I know you are probably sick of seeing okra and flowers, but these sideways shots show how pretty they are with the red coloration showing on the outer bud. These could possibly be the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen, closed or open (and minus the aphids)...I AM IN LOVE!
P.S. The aphids are non-stop, and I have had to spray weekly with insecticidal soap, or a mixture of soap and water to attempt to keep them at bay. They are persistant and a real pain in the butt!
I like how the Euphorbia lactea has that pretty pink edge.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the second pic of the Okra flower bud...hope those pesky aphids stay away. It must be so frustrating!
The Pinkish discoloration on top of the cacti is amazing.
ReplyDeleteSometimes close ups bring forth a beauty which otherwise would have gone unappreciated - the Okra bud is looking beautiful, minus the aphids of course:-)
Your pink edged succulent is pretty. I can see why you like the okra blooms so much. They give you not only beauty but turn into a yummy treat. HCM.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie,
ReplyDeleteNope, never get tired of looking a plants. I'm the same way with mine. I love to take photos of them and try at different times of the day and of course different angels. They are pretty to look at and a great source of inspiration. Love your little drawing below. Very cute and a lot of little detail there too. Enjoy the nature show outside your window. : ) Have a great day.
P.S. Sorry to hear about the aphids. : ( Hope they will go away soon.
Wow those succulents are beautifully designed. Hmm, that okra is really pretty also. I can honestly say I have never tatted okra and you make me feel like I am missing something.
ReplyDelete❤HCM❤
I love your beautiful plants...sensational photos! HCM
ReplyDeleteLovely shots Julie.
ReplyDeleteIs that first one a cactus or succulent?
Lovely colors. Too bad of those bugs....:(
HCM!!!!
The pink on the euphorbia is lovely! Gotta get one of those! Your blog is looking GREAT!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful succulent! I love the pink too! And your okra plants are looking great! The flowers are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteCute euphoribia...I think I'm getting a thing for these too, as long as they're not pokey! Who could get tired of okra? You just keep reminding me that's it's been too long since I've eaten any!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to Julie, Happy Birthday to You!!
Hope you had a fabulous day today!
Mariuanne- the Euphorbia is a succulent and the edge that is pink has non-sharp protrusions! No danger here!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMandy- thanks for the birthday wishes!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) Julie. They are blushing in the sun! Lovely! Love your okra shots - your close-up (last photo) shows the texture of the petals nicely. Love the texture - reminds me of cabbage!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Cactus Monday amd have a lovely week.
Hi Julie
ReplyDeleteIsn't that something about the darn aphids...I have never grown okra so I didn't know that. That is a major pain to have them reappear like that. I'm glad you are keeping them under control.
Lovely cactus...the tips are sooo pretty and delicate.
Hope you are having a great week!
*hugs*
Judi
