All two of my realizations came within a few minutes of each other...
One was that I will need to continue to work in my same career path (I had hoped to make a midlife career change), but will just NOT be able to due to financial requirements.
The other is that as I worked some plain old x's on top of piece of gingham cloth and attached it to my embroidery collage, and came to realize that this is a very pleasing thing to my eye. I filled in with some pretty little french knots...and it is just old fashioned and more "me".
Here are a few shots of the kids and my daughter at the park today. We played golf (they had a put-put golf area there), and ran around like fools.
I love how personal you are making this. So pretty and think of all the good memories this will bring!
ReplyDeleteOh that Emily!!!!! What a complete doll she is!!!!!
What a lovely day the family had at the park Julie. I like your little square for the collage....it will look great, and add an interesting dimension. You have those knots down patt.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame you cant change direction with your career path just now. Perhaps just a change of job and place of of in the same industry will feel as good. Hope you can find something soon.
Too bad you can't afford to stay home. Most of us can't though. At least you can go back to what you were doing. Your embroidery collage is beautiful. You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is great Julie. Love the way material ribbons, laces and other items can be incorporated into a one of a kind work of art.
ReplyDeleteDarling Grandbabies....loks like you were all having fun. Ya' just have to wonder why you weren't born rich instead of beautiful....then you'd never have to work again!, right!
ReplyDeleteKeep looking, maybe, something wonderful will still pop up.
Very Pretty embroidery! I love the simplicity of it..so soothing.
ReplyDeleteBummer on the career thing.. but boy you know... disappointments are just part of the job here in our temporary life. :)Someday though... I'm gonna have a heckuva big garden in a stay putted house. ;)
