I've nearly completely my first handmade bag. When it is completely done, I will show it turned both ways. Now that I see it, the bright, colorful fruit pattern might make for a good lunch bag. I will have to see how it looks turned the other way! It's been a lot of fun to do this evening, following Debbie Shore on YouTube's video.

An ATC from the past!
Does anyone remember this little cute thing??? Made for a friend far away back in 2010, and mailed it off, but I came across it on my old ATC blog (Julie, Karen and Ginny's ATC's, and thought I would repost since I love it so much!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Phew, my machine and I are friends again!
Found my problem was related to the threading. Yeah. Easy fix. So I continue on the quest to make a little matrishka (sp?) doll. It was fun, but my machine sewing leaves a lot to be desired. My favorite parts as usual are the embroidered ones. Her hair is cool. I just followed the picture in my Homemaker Magazine. I never found find any templates.
Have a great rest of the week!

Why I don't machine sew.....
It's a pain on my arse, literally! Some people have the knack. I don't! I'm quite certain God did not intend it for me!
Oh well. Time to move on. :(

Cactus/Succulent Monday (a slight adaptation, approved by our Cactus Monday leader, Teri)!
After breakfast with my brother and his MIL, I was inspired to take apart my strawberry pot, clean up my Kalanchoe, and re-pot with fresh Miracle Gro. I did not use cactus soil because I believe this succulent seems to like more water, and it only gets rainwater, which is fairly scarce most of the time anyway. We shall see how it fairs.
A few close ups of my favorite succulent of all times, for some strange reason.
Is it the cheery green coloration?
Is it the rosebud configuration of the leaves?
Is it the way the leaves turn red in the sun?
Is it the constant self propagation of the cutest little babies?
Is it the way the babies seem to peep out saying "hello world"???

I believe it must be a combination of all. I just adore these gorgeous plants. Oh, I forgot to mention that they are impossible to kill (unless you over water, or keep in full shade). Keep them dry and in full sun and you've got a winner!
Hello to all my blogger pals! The weather here is stunningly gorgeous...no clouds, sunny, bright, temp around 80 or so. The warmest winter in years this year. Yeah.
Love to you all...
Julie
