I'm having fun with this one!
I saw this in a nursery near me, and on the sly, took a pic. It is a very interesting succulent...is it a stapeliad, a huernia, or something a little more unusual like an Orbea, Duvalia, or Pachycymbium? Cue the laughing...I am way off base, I know...Please don't tell me...I want to find it myself. If it turns out to be a Euphorbia of some type, I will live with it...but I am hoping for a really cool off the beaten path sort. It has some color striation on the branches, and soft points. I really love the look of it. It was priced at 15 dollars, and of course, I am a little too cheap for that! LOL. I always think of the little peice I could propogate...and it ruins me to pay. Wish me luck!
Julie
Good luck. I have no idea what this unusual thing is. It would be a good conversation piece.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell you anyway...let us know.
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen it called 'crown of thorns' but I know that's just a popular name--maybe you could google that and see if its the same thing and what the latin for it is?
ReplyDeleteVery unusual...
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is an unusual plant but too expensive! Maybe someone you know has one and can send you a cutting. I love your header photo, by the way.
ReplyDeleteThat is one unusual succulent there. Looks dangerous too. : ) It will be interesting to see the growing pattern. Love the photo below of the sunflowers. It is nice to share your garden with a neighbor. A few years ago I grew a similar type of sunflower called Prairie Maximilian. Sunflowers are fun and pretty to grow. They variety out is amazing. Have Great Friday.
ReplyDeleteWell you don't have to worry about ME telling you! As I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteLove your love for these beauties. My cousin Judy sent me some gorgeous photos of blooming succulents I plan to post on Monday.
A really neat, stapeliad for sure, Julie! If you can't find it...or get tired of looking for its ID, let me know. I'm pretty sure I know what it is. But don't wait too long to ask, or I'll forget it!
ReplyDeleteYou can see it & lots of other neat stapeliads at www.stapeliad.info -if you have a day to peruse! :)
i went to walmart the other day and stopped by the plants section, and they had absolutely HUGE succulents and cactuses! (what's the plural? haha)
ReplyDeleteanyways i thought of you and hoped your walmart had them too! check it out, they were crazy!
Wicked looking! I have no idea what it could be!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's really neat. I'll have to go check out my stores and see if I see any.
ReplyDeleteGood luck...you are a magnet for weird succulents. Which actually is a good thing. :)
