New addition to succulent/tire garden just in time for the birds to arrive!

I bought a shepard's crook (and my friend, Karen did too)...and put it in the tire garden to hang my bird seed cakes from! I just bought a cake from Lowes, but need to make some in preparation for upcoming northern bird migration through south Florida! They should be arriving in a few weeks, and I am excited over it! My birdbath awaits them as well just feet from the seeds.

My one plant of Siam Tulip, which is a variety of ginger, sits just outside my front door under the shade of the hibiscus hedge...so I see it when I walk out. It brings happiness. There are little purple orchid-like petals that come out of all the little cups around the base of the pink flower. It is AWESOME, and I love it.

The Black Knight is filling in nicely in front garden (I took this in wind and rain, so it is a bit blurry)...sorry! I am noticing how lovely my lawn is in this photo! We have had so much rain lately, everyone's lawns are just gorgeous around here! Not just mine!

Lastly, I leave you with the cutest picture of LUCIE!!! Taken when she was playing with Malinka, a.k.a., Link Link, yesterday! She is so bright white, isn't she? A real dolly baby!!!

Happy Tuesday! xoxo- Julie

You may see two comments. I wrote one but had to sign in, and then it disappeared.

I love that ginger plant. There are so many fascinating varieties, and some of them are even hardy here. Will you share your recipe for suet cakes?

Love your tire garden. Adorable and great idea for your bird feeder. My sunflowers are now feeding my birds. A beautiful plant the Siam tulip is. I have never seen that before. There are so many now for use to have in our gardens, just not enough room to have them all. Your little baby is too cute and love the pose there. Have a good day.
Blessings.

The tire garden is so cool! Bet you get lots of birds at the feeder. And I've never seen a Siam Tulip, it is so gorgeous! I will have to look into that one, I imagine it would be a tropical around here.
Lucie is so adorable. :)

Good to see your tire garden again. Love the update. I didn't realize you got a lot of migrating birds. (duh).
Love that shade of ginger. That plant is so fun to sketch.
If I were here for the winter I would be making those seed cakes!

Love your tire planters. Having the birds come through is always so exciting:). Mom has them (for the first time ever) SWARMING her feeder. Guess they are filling up for their flight south too. Fun to watch. Sweet pooch too:)

That tire arrangement for your succulents is SO perfect!! How ingenious!!!
Your Siam Tulip looks to be the same variety as mine, which were really late in arriving this year.....like 2mos later than the previous two summers! Did you notice anything different with yours this season?
Great catching up with your blog, btw!
