Elsa dancing in snow, and a fun way to entertain a 5 year old for hours!!!

Emily got a dress at Walmart to dress up as Elsa from Frozen! She's in heaven! We cut paper snowflakes and she made snow from toilet paper.....while grandma Julie wasn't looking, mind you! Oh well. She has danced in this mess all day! And to think she stayed home sick today! Hmmmmm.......
One of her new found loves is cracking open and eating pistachios. We decided to color the shells with markers to use in an art craft.
Soon, we decided to try dying bigger batches. Used food coloring in water with a splash of vinegar. The neon blue came out the prettiest (a nice sort of teal).
The whole time we worked on it, the 5 year old sugar girl kept on saying, "this is the most awesome art craft, isn't it Grandma"?????? Lol. So cute. This activity kept her entertained a couple of hours! WOWZERS!
Any good ideas on what we could do with these babies? We left some natural color too! I was thinking of hot gluing a wreath or a sign saying "Happy Birthday", maybe?????
Xoxo-Julie

They'd be good to string onto jewelry... basically, they're shaped like small sea shells, so anything they do with shells you can do with these...

That is a cute dress she looks such a happy little girl. When the grandchildren were very small I lived across the road from the beach so had no problem emtertaining them. You are very patient Julie

I agree with Claude. They would look cute as a neckless. Fun Julie. What a lucky little girl to have you as a Grandma.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings.

Looks to me like she was sick of school. Ha... You will think of something clever to use these nut hulls.

My first thought for the nuts would be a necklace, since there are no holes for stringing I would simply glue two half shells to the string, it will be time consuming but with great result I would think.

What a great craft to do with kids! Good idea to use dye, quicker for little ones with short attention spans (like my grandson!).
I've seen pistachio shells made into succulents in a frame, it makes awesome wall décor!
