Neat cactus collection!

We have a new restaurant in town, called Shorty's BBQ, and the first night we stopped there, we met the manager and several of the wait staff...outside first...when we noticed quite quickly that they had these cute cactus gardens set up all along the front edge of the building! (Sorry the first pic is so blurry, but wanted to include it so you can see the row of these things)! They (the manager and other staff) were standing outside when we walked up, and of course I had to comment on the cactus. I was concerned because half of them were up under cover in the shade all day. She was watering them once a week. I thought maybe once every 2-4 weeks might be better...and of course, we got to talkin. These are the nicest people. We enjoyed not only them, but the restaurant is so cute with country BBQ decor, and the food is succulent...specially those ribs!!!

Anyway...it has become our new favorite hangout (I will probably gain at least 100 pounds over the next few months)!!! LOL!

The manager has an outdoor seating area, with tables that were made from barrels. When they cut the tops off the barrels to attach the table tops, she came up with the idea for the cactus gardens made from the cut off tops! Genius! They were an immediate hit with me!

Since I do not know the names of these cute babies, I will just allow you to enjoy all the cactus textures! I love my textures!

My new recycled tire purse!

Hey, you gotta check out what I bought! I guess I have a fetish for tires! I didn't realize it so much, until my blogger pal, Vickie, pointed it out to me! LOL!!! This purse, I bought from The Animal Rescue Site, and it is really neat! Very well made, and if you buy from them, you also donate so many cups of food to a shelter! I think it is a win-win situation! Consider visiting Vickie's blog, where you can vote for a Ratbone Shelter, and give them a chance to win money for the shelter!

Postcards from Marianne!!!

OMG...have a look at what I recieved from Marianne a few days ago...a postcard all the way from Johannesburg, South Africa! The print on this says "When two elephants fight, the one that suffers most, is the grass"!!! LOLOL.

Now...tonight when I walked in from work, I found a SECOND card from her...all the way from the Netherlands...a hand painted mandala postcard!!! She made me one with orange, since she knows how much I love that color! How sweet, and what an amazing surprise to just find tonight while I am watching the election results!!! I feel so happy just looking at it. I will get a frame for it and put it in on my desk. Thankyou, Marianne!!!!! You made my whole week with these fabulous surprises!!!

Happy voting day!

What an exciting day! It will be hard for me to work, but fortunately I have a lot of TV's I can look at as I work! Of course, there won't be much to hear until the votes start getting counted tonight. Tomorrow we will know who our next President is. This is an amazing time and I am happy to be part of it. I hope God will bless our next President, and that the country will pull together, no matter who wins. I want PEACE. I hope everyone will want the same thing. Let's all work together for the best of all situations!

Happy LATE Cactus Monday!!!

Sorry so late today! I just got home from dinner after a long day at work, and ran in to my desk to come up with a Cactus Monday drawing! I think this came out cute, and notice the bottom fruit is falling off...it must have just broken off, and has not yet even made a turn to fall with it's heavy side down! It is still floating in mid-air! Astounding!!!
