Mixed zinnias!!! Yeah!!!

OK...we got our answer today...the 2nd zinnia opened and it is a different size and color! So we had mixed seeds, and I was like a kid in a candy shop when I saw this! I am eagerly awaiting the next one to open now...and to see all that follow...

Small things make me happy!

New gardening books!

My SIL finds these really amazing and awesome books for me all of the time! How does she do it??? I really don't know, but it is such a blessing to be the recipient of these things!!! I really appreciate her sweetness!!! Thanks Lynn!

I've been reading all about worm boxes (for indoor use)...kinda yucky! Also on plant diseases and pests, and a whole lotsa other things in regard to organic farming.

Did I tell you I have my first little purple eggplant on one of the plants? It is about 2.5 inches long! So cute. I keep praying no terrible thing happens to my plants. It is nerve wracking!!! Seriously. The Bush Tomatoes in their orange pots are looking great...really growing and the leaves and plants in general look sturdy and dark green. Phew!

Do any of you have indoor worm boxes?? It sounds kinda gross, but maybe I could handle it. Maybe.

Today my Mom turns 30!

My Mom is finally turning 30! I dioscovered that 29 candles on a cake is kinda hard to manage, but how bout 3...one for every 10 years! Much easier, and sweeter! So today she is no longer 29...gosh she is getting old!!! LOL. She picked the theme of Tinkerbelle for her pizza party, so I did her cake sprinkled with pixie dust! She has three sparkler candles behind Tink, (Tink herself is a candle, but I won't light it)and coconut edging for softness...kinda looks like Tink is floating on a cloud! It turned out cute, I think. Happy Birthday Mommy!!!

Update on the gardener's pot!

Donovan finally got his first zinnia flower! He's got quite a few others ready to open as well. It looked like it was going to be a purple flower, but then it opened and voila...a lovely shade of pink! It was a mystery as to what color we had. I wonder if the others will be pink, or if they were mixed seeds! We shall soon see!

Hey there purdy!!!

Cholla blooms!

I was really inspired by the weath of Cholla blooms posted lately, and I decided to do a quick sketch (5 minutes) using this technique I had learned at our art gallery, during a college class. I'm sure it has some sort of name, but all it is is drawing without taking your pen off the paper! I was enthralled with this then, and I still enjoy it...and I am thinking I may do more of it, because it has such a free feeling to it, and I am seriously going to buy a set of COPIC pens after I return to work! This was done with a black Sharpie, a yellow highlighter (cause I did not have any COPIC PENS yet), LOL...and green Sharpie and red/brown colored pencil.I do have watercolor pencils, but I am no good at using them. Sooo...I hope everyone has a wonderful Cactus Monday today! I am off to Walmart now for a little birthday shopping for my Mom! Bye for now!!!
