OK...here goes for the 2nd batch of pics I took at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands. This first picture is the most fun...there were about 5 little turtles sitting on the tail of this alligator, who I suspect was a female lover to the male (I'm guessing here), who you see gliding through the water in another pic. The suspected male swam over to where the suspected female was lounging with the turtles on her tail. I kind of thought it might cause a movement or a big splash from one of the creatures involved, but alas...not a budge from anyone...all was well in the kingdom!
You can make out what you are seeing in all of the other pics...you can see a turtle and a sort of teenage sized alligator basking over in the green sludge, which I have now learned is called duckweed. Just the looks of this bright green, succulent stuff makes me want to scape it off the surface of the water, bring it home, clean it and put it in a green smoothie! Hey...maybe I could go back to age 17 again!!! That is how nutritious this stuff looks!
Tomorrow night I have either spiders and webs, or plant life with flowers! Which would you like to see next????
Happy Tuesday night everyone!
Julie

cool photos!
Cool gators! I thought in your post last night that all that green stuff looked like duckweed, but I've never seen it so thick!
Oh yes, please put me down for spiders tomorrow!
EEK and WOW! I love those turtles riding on the gatorbus.
But I can't even imagine getting close enough to take a photo!
OH, these are awesome pics, Julie!!! How cute that the turtles sit on the alligator's tail.....almost like they're going for a ride at a theme park..lol
I would love to see some spider pics please!
love, light and peace,
serena
I personally vote against the Spiders, but I love these. Those Turtles are cheeky.
That gator gets much bigger, it'll start eating those turtles! Put me down for spiders next, as much as I like the flowering plants, I've always found spiders fascinating.
Great pics!
I love to see them all!
These are cool. Love turtles. And alligators are fascinating!
And so are spiders, I'm not afraid of spiders so bring them in......
Love those photos and the turtles are just adorable. How close were you when you got the closer shot of that alligator in photo #4, Wow. My Daughter works in a veterinary office and before all the rain we are having at the moment. Southern California was have weeks of 80 degree weather and turtle owners were calling the Vet’s office and asking what to do about their turtles. They were coming out of hibernation way too early. The doctors just told them to find a dark cool place and try to put them back to sleep.
I love the turtles!!! the three togetherare my fav!
Lovin' the photos Julie but count me out as far as a green smoothie is concerned. ;)
wow! do you live near these wetlands? or are these pics from a special trip? and ummm, isnt that crocodile more scary than the "little tiny can run away from it" spider????
