Did I tell you
That I am trying to read the first book of the TWILIGHT series??? It is a big fat one, that would normally scare me away! I picked it up at the library and so far (I'm about an inch into it), it is just so well written I can't put it down once I start reading! I know people of all ages are reading these books and it was a 75 year old woman who inspired me to read...she has read the first 3 books and really loves them. I am posting less...am probably going to pretty much do only Cactus Monday posts for a while, until I get through this book...wish me luck! Oh...in answer to LOLO's question about whether i will show my drawings in my new sketchbook goes....I most certainly will...stay tuned!

The Twilight series is turning into a bit of a publishing phenomenon. I was listening about it on NPR. I have to say that it doesn't sound like it would appeal to me, but I'm a voracious reader, so if I find a copy at the used book store for cheap, I may pick it up to see what the fuss is about.
And I must say, I don't aprove of any book that keeps my blogger people from blogging, even if it is only temporary.... LOL
There are a lot of people hooked on this series. Good luck. Let us know if you think it is worth it.
ha ha have fun and we will wait to hear your critic of the book when done.
I read this last year, just out of curiosity because of all the Twilight hype. I thought it was okay, but not great. I decided I didn't really want to read the rest of the series.
The only other "sexy vampire" books I've ever read were the ones by Anne Rice, and I liked them a lot more. The writing style was totally different, much more descriptive, and more "grown-up". (I don't mean the sexy parts, I just mean the way it was written, the vocabulary, etc. But the sexy parts were good too.)
OH, I loved the Twilight series! The only book I wasn't over keen on was the third one but, be warned, the last two books are a lot fatter than the first. The last book was my favourite!
Claude- Your words made me blubber! I was already in a blubbery mood watching American Idol. I know I will porobably post more than i think I will...hey...I'm already ready to do a post tonight. I miss the connection with everyone when I don't. Blogging is by far the most addictive thing I've ever done!!! BTW...if all of us Cactus Monday peeps get together at some time next year (talk is going around)...YOU have to be there!!! NO excuses! :)
Claude- Get a copy of the book at the library! (FREE)
Julie...you're reading this book now...hmmmm...so many people have and are and I keep wondering whether I should start too...I just may have to find me a copy too.
enjoy your reading and see you when you can come here, I know how it goes.
enjoy this lovely day
