I was inspired to try something new last night while discovering a new amazing blog called Mixed Media Artist, and, I knew, on several levels, that I must give this technique a try.
No, I did not draw anything original...hmmmmmmm.....
But blended together cactus papers, acrylic paints, and foil...to make something really unique! I think I like it.
Please tell me what you think. It was done on a large sheet of crumpled foil, and now that it is dry, I plan to cut it to size and place it into my recycled sketchbook. The sketchbook will be changing themes...so...ever onward...
I am looking forward to trying more of this, and I hope it really gets very interesting! Wish me luck!

Great piece Julie. I like the colors and the cactus theme. On foil?? Interesting.
I *love* the texture of the foil showing through in spots! Gorgeous rich colors too :-)

Fascinating blend of cactus images, text and paint on foil. I've never seen anything like it before, but I love it!

Hi Julie
I love what you did. Mixed media is very interesting. I wonder how you mixed the foil ... I don't understand that. It is so neat to have different techniques and one thing can lead to another.
Have fun!

P.S. I hope everyone in your family is feeling better...and little Emily is all better too.
I hope she had a good birthday party and wasn't feeling sick. She is so sweet.
WOW....it's fabulous, Julie...well done! I love working with mixed media too ~ :)

Interesting. I've not seen this combination of materials before. Will you show the finished pieces?
