A Blast From The Past on Cactus Monday!

I got a very pleasant surprise when I sync'd my new phone to Google, and it brought all the photos, even from my past blogs that had been deleted long ago, into my gallery! The photos from my first blog, which had been called "Succulents By J", showed up...and I was so amazed at the beautiful succulent photos I had back then! I had my pretty succulent tires all arranged with shiny glass pebbles or shells...and they just looked so colorful and fun. Now, they are all looking frazzled, worn and tired. I need to make a commitment to update them when the weather cools down here, for sure...

In honor of CACTUS MONDAY...here is a little look back at the past (I believe it was approx. 2008):

they really are beautiful

you remember that beautiful jade tree i had to 10 years? this winter killed it. almost all my succulents are gone including the ones in shoes. it's a sad mess over in my succulent area. i'm thinking it's just too humid for them here.

humm.....maybe i could move the survivors into the screen porch since i moved the orchids outside.

Julie, you gotta do this when you get your garden in shape:

I love the glass, colored stones and shells you used. I have a bunch of shells and that is a great idea! Sometimes you have to just pull the plants out and redo!

Hi Julie *hugs*
oh how very pretty. Isn't that nice you got those pictures back. I love how you have the plants set with the glass circles behind they are so attractive.
I bet you have had hot weather your way and I wonder how your veggies are doing in it. Even we have had temps in the mid 90s and we don't usually have that around here. It is much cooler today and thunder has been the air and it feels like some rain.
have a great day
*hugs*

That is a lovely Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. The bright green leaves look like it could be too perfect to be true. It is a pleasure looking at your plants and photos.

I'm not sure about you, but if it weren't for my blog, I wouldn't bother taking pictures of my garden. It's always a lot of fun to look back at old photos of the garden.

You have some great plant combos there!

How time passes!! I so very well remember what an avid follower I was of your blog 'Succulents by J', and when you deleted it I was totally confused!! Then after some time when I discovered your new blog, I was extremely happy to see you blogging and that too with a vengeance, a spirit which you've maintained till date.
Cheers

I was out today and saw the most wonderful cactus blooms. I have to go back and photograph.

I love the pink and green succulent in the first photo.

Just beautiful Julie. We had to do that to our cactus and succulents recently. It is amazing that they do grow fast too. Love the blue pebbles you used.
