Corn plants and others.

Some shots of my little cute plants outside today.

First the big Mexican Sunflower bush between my neighbor and I...it is just covered in blooms right now. They seem to form on the bush at the top and on the side that gets the most sun (mainly the side facing south) on most bushes I have seen. This bush is actually my neighbors, and it is on the left side of my house, so we see all the blooms! The bushes on the right side of my house along the fence line on the other neighbors side...he gets to see all the blooms. That really irritates me too!!! :)

My corn plants are doing really well in their buckets.

The Gretel eggplant is growing well...soon to make some eggplants for us!!!

A cute little top to one of my gorgeous kalanchoe.

The Drift Rose is putting on a great show right now...there are two of these big flushes of flowers on the one plant, and a few other singles around too!!! Isn't it just so pretty??? WOW! Kinda makes me think of azaleas. They look so old fashioned to me!!!

I'm dripping in eggplants, and other garden delights!

When I got home today, the lighting seemed perfect for a few garden shots!
My Kalanchoe are covered in leaflets right now! Here is a shot looking straight down onto the top of a K. tubiflora (talk about an awe inspiring design)!!!:

And K. daigremontianum. Isn't this just gorgeous colors???

The new Drift Rose is getting covered by new flowers!




I have a load of green tomatoes. Besides this plant, I have 3 more plants loaded up!!! I think I will make Emeril Lagasse's Green Tomato Pie...I found the recipe in my last Organic Gardening Magazine! Looks delicious!

How many eggplants do you see hanging in there??? I counted 8 visable ones, and a few more were hidden by leaves!!! These babies are continually producing...I have to admit we are reaching the brink with consumption though...I think I have too many plants for sure...but it has been a ton of fun!!!



This little guy ran out just in time for me to snap a pic of him...he seemed to enjoy modeling...stood there quite a while! It looks like his body is wet, and his tail is dry, doesn't it???

I ended up going to work today for my last day of laptop training...
I still have laryngitis tonight, but feel good. It has been a strange illness in that I have been able to carry on throughout. Thank God!

Drift Rose pics!

Here are a few shots of my new rose bush just prior to planting, and a few close ups of buds from yesterday, and a few that opened this morning! This is going to be a proliferative plant...I can see that already!!! Yeahhh!!!

Well, wonder of wonders...today I found out from my boss that I was doing way more work than I had to!!! I am able to utilize more of the resources available to assist me later in the day so that I can finish up everything I need to and still get home at a reasonable hour!!! Glory be! I nearly cried...I wanted to...since I have been working way over an 8 hour day and with a 1 hour drive each way!!! I feel such relief now!

Well, being as she sent me home early today, I went shopping at a new nursery I had been wanting to visit...called ART BY NATURE, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was incredible! The gal there, named Jackie was so helpful and so nice. I bought 4 things! I had gone to see if they had any Rugosa roses, which she did not...but she showed me a large (in a big pot) Drift rose, called Meijocos! Here is a pic from a website @ The Conard-Pyle Company. They are so old fashioned looking, and similar in style to the Rugosa. It is already about 1.5 ft. tall, and 2.5 ft. wide! Perfect for one of my tires. Oh, and she gave it to me for half price...marked 18, I paid 9! See below:

Next she had three small gardenias! I had been thinking about planting one outside of a window that I might open more to let the heavenly scent in...so I bought 3! I couldn't resist.

I will show pics tomorrow after I get them planted. The leaves are dark green and the plants look like visions of health! I have to pic a good spot, because she said they will do best with protection from the afternoon sun...I hard thing to find here...

Oh, BTW...in honor of the Royal Wedding today, we went out and ate British food tonight! I had Shepherds Pie, and DIL had Fish n Chips! My husband had prime rib...does that count??? The wedding was so beautiful, and I am so happy for them!
