As I was coming in from the tire gardens, I nioticed these neglected jars of distilled water given to me by my cousin to use in my streaming appliances. I haven't used any yet and they have been out there about 2 years already! Ha ha ha! I was gonna say that I have heard of 13 bottles of beer on a wall, but never heard of 13 bottles of distilled water in a driveway before! Anyone need a bottle or two???

Cactus bud starting to peek open!
You know this little cacus gives me so much happiness! It is so adorable, and fun! The one little bud, is starting to open. I hope once they all open they will stay that way for a while so I can see them all open at the same time! The beige color is kinda boring, but I think it will look really pretty next to the ultra white spines! I have turned into more of a beige lover the older I've become. My last car purchase was a shade of beige, given a more luxurious name by the car company, of course!!! And to think I always hated beige in my younger years! LOL.

It is a cutie pie! I will check these buds tomorrow morning and see if they are open and will do another post as soon as they do! Maybe another poster????? LOL....Having fun!

Succulent plants and a new book!
Here are a couple of shots of two plants in my tires. This one is Crassula pagoda, and I love how it turns red around the edges, as so many of the succulents do, in full sun. I have a fondness for crassula anyway, the way they build upon themselves! I'm glad this one seems to be happy in it's location, and with it's watering schedule!

Here is a growing specimen of Mammilaria gracilis fragilis, and I found this little tanish colored firm pod-like thing growing on it...I hope it will open to a flower! It could...it would be this plants first time flowering for me, so I am unsure of what to expect. If and when it does, I hope I catch it so I can take a picture to share!

And, here is my latest new OLD book! It was published in 1977, by George Ashley. The drawings inside are by Maggie Baylis, and are very detailed pen and inks. The author has a wonderful sense of humor, and came from a cactus and succulent dominated home (his Mom loved them). He covers every detail about these plants and their care, and the ink drawings are really great. I would have to say this is a really fun and informative book...one that I have REALLY enjoyed picking up over and over, in even a few short weeks! I adore all of my older succulent books (my collection is growing)...there is just something about them that I enjoy.

What's happening in the succulent tires!
What a surprise I had when I looked out the kitchen window today and saw some little pink things ringing the end of my mammallaria!!! I snatched up my camera so fast, and ran out to see. Sometimes my camera amazes me with these very sharp photos! This afternoon, one of the flowers had opened and I imagine by tomorrow a bunch will be open, so I will post another pic tomorrow and show you. This is the first time to bloom for this big guy, who I have affectionately named Mr. Falox! All of the others are just basking in the winter sun looking like there all-round gorgeous selves!

Cactus Collection delivery!
Here they are....arrived today...found the box on my front doorstep when I get home from work!!! Yeah...excitement!!!
Well, actually these top two were purchased form Home Depot here today...during my lunch break! This top one is called Crassula Obliqua "Tricolor"...hope it is labelled correctly...I need to research to be sure!
This soft green-blue plant came without a tag...so still need to research this one!
This one is a pretty little Ferocactus latispinus...love those red spines!!! How daring!!!
Now I ordered this one based on the fact that I loved Aiyanas' from Water When Dry. It is called Mammillaria gracilis fragilis! Isn't it beautiful...covered with stars and also arrived with blooms!
Here is my first split rock! Called Pleiospilos nelii. What a name!
OK...last but not least is Anacampseros telephiastrum varigata. SHE is lovely with her bright pink leaves! Gotta get her in my succulent tires quick to try and keep that lovely pink color nice and bright in the sun!
I AM HAPPY!!!
