Big metallic toothpaste paper bauble...

I am quite sure that when you view the photos below, you will agree that I must be in the wrong business...I should be a metallic bathroom toiletries box bead maker!

When I woke up this morning at 5:30am, and needed a new tube of toothpaste, I was immediately struck by the shining beauty of the box it came in! When I opened the flaps of the box, they, too, were shiny metallic...so I cut a long triangle, and came out in the dark, flipped on the light, grabbed a pencil and some Elmer's glue...and got to rollin! Here is the giant bauble I ended up with...and I am in love!

You can wrap around a skewer, a toothpick, or a pencil...but this thickness of paper worked very well on a pencil. I happen to love the colors, and it fits in with the colors of beads already on the strand. I am seeing a trend here lately...I don't choose things, as much as they seem to choose me! It's odd.

Yes, this should be just the job for me! :)
What toiletries box might be next, you ask??? Only time will tell. To be continued (one day)!!!

I am sitting here typing, and staring at this!!!!!

I am beginning to think that maybe we are going against all of nature when we try to organize craft spaces! It just never LASTS for me.....I am beginning to feel OK with it...possibly even deriving some pleasure out of looking at it??? The problem is that I have more in my overflowing secretary, entertainment center, and hall closet. Seriously, when I opened the pull down secretary front, stuff started to tumble out! Now, that is a sad state of affairs!


I am working on finishing two more pair of Christmas tree earrings for a few folks. One is the economic developer for a town nearby who I met on the beading isle at Crafts N Stuff! She is so sweet. I must take her a pair...I am hoping to run into her at a craft fair on Sunday. I wish she could hire me to help her develop a whole artsy community in their town. It is coming about, but surely I could help her in some way!!! That would be fun, don't you think? She was telling me that we may get a Christmas shoppe back in town who was forced to leave a few years ago, that everyone dearly loved. If he comes back I will be thrilled!!! Oh, well...ever onward with my fantasies!!! LOL.

Here is a few pics of the tent we set up in one corner of the screen room for the kids to play in (for a little playhouse) that we can read books in and play games. (Don't notice all the darn plastic, Messyfish, OK)...I am going to go check at our camping store for a lightweight small clip on light that can attach to the inside top of the tent for better lighting in there. An LED, for long lasting low battery usage. Right now we have a lantern in there...but who wants to buy batteries...NOT ME!!! Of course, there is some light just from the screenroom itself, but we are looking for a camping-like experience...sorta being outside, without actually being all the way outside. My grandson is afraid of bugs right now...something we must gradually work on so he can be my camping buddy one day soon!!!


Today he and I were at Home Depot, and he is learning to read, so I encourage him read signs wherever we are...and he was reading the labels for the different types of tomato plants. One was called Mr. Stripey, and it had a pic that showed a yellow/orange colored tomato with red stripes! I immediately said "Let's get one"! I got it planted today and it looks happy so far...will be fun to see what developes!!!

A new blog started and carrots planted!

This morning my DIL and I and daughter and baby ran around doing some chores. DIL is a bridesmaid this weekend and she is closing up loose ends getting ready. I polished up some 6mm white pearls I had made years ago on sterling silver lever-backed earrings. They look very shiny and ready to wear now. She is wearing pearl earrings, necklace and braclet, and will look very pretty with her dress of a satiny material sort of a dark brown, purple shade (VERY BEAUTIFUL)! I think she will look like Cinderella, except with Snow White's hair, LOL!!!!

Ran to Home Depot to buy my favorite organic cow manure compost (it's very inexpensive too)...and got my three new pickle green 5 gallon tubs filled with the compost and some Miracle Gro soil on top, and planted my Big Top Carrot seeds! I can hardly wait to see how they do both in the containers and in that mixture. I will take a pic of them when the seedlings are up! Buddha is watching over them out there for me! Hehehe. We calculate they should be ready by Christmas, and for grandson, Donovan's birthday...so we decided we will be making a fresh carrot cake!!! He is excited...yeah!

I am washing my new uniforms, checking to see if I still own any socks, and getting paperwork ready to take to work tomorrow. Our job ads look really terrible here...narry a job listed. I am feeling grateful for my new job.

I was playing around last night (late) trying to make some paper beads to be like the Pandora or Trollbead style...and this is what I did. I rolled them on a wider stick (a skewer) and actually painted them. This morning I am putting a few coats of glossy nail polish over top and they are actually really pretty. I may need to make enough to try a bracelet.


I started a new blog...granted, it may not be frequently updated, just as my ATC and collage cards blogs are (not)...but it is a record for myself as to what I am doing or have done. Maybe someone can be inspired by some little thing there. I hope so. The new blog is here at "Let It Beads".
