My blogger friend, MATT, a Botanist, with a blog about weird botany and horticulture, called Burgers Onion told me it is a White Bird of Paradise!!! How cool is that? I guess I have never seen one before (at least not in bloom)...so this makes it extra special for me! I wanted to take more pics today, but it got dark too soon for me to get there, so I found this lovely pic online, to further share the gorgeousness of this bloom!

What a beautiful bloom. I know absolutely nothing about tropical plants but I know a beauty when I see one.
No problem, Julie! It's great to see plants like this growing outside in people's gardens.
