Potted cactus and ATC storage

I wanted to show my new cactus, sent all the way from Texas...all potted up in their new homes on my kitchen windowsill! They will get a watchful eye and a little extra moisture here and there to get their roots going and then move to their outdoor tire garden, where (I hope) they will live out their long, long lives! I didn't tell you, Claude, but it was such a surprise that you sent me a peice of cleistocactus winterii. I had been wanting this same plant, and didn't know the name, and it seemed like a bit of the universe in action when it just arrived at my door like that!!! WOW! It kinda gives you the chills!!!

Below is my modest little red notebook where I store all my ATC's in baseball card pages. My local trading card/book store is 1 block from my house and they sell the trading card sleeve pages...each page holds 9 ATC's perfectly. I like to sit and look through them all whenever I add in a new one...like this page that holds cards from the my blogger friends in the Netherlands, England, and California!

Just for kicks, I counted all my cards and I currently have 64 ATC's! Such fun!

So that's what the storage looks like! Thank you so much. Now where can I get one. I am so into these ATCs that I know I am going to need one.

Don't get too much water on those cacti. When I plant them outside in AZ, I water them once and they thrive just with that. They are survivors for sure.

The blue reminds me of a sky... I'm more a collage type of person, so I'd get a piece of gauze or lace or something to make a cloud, and cut out a black bird to fly across it... but that's me. Maybe a balloon or something...

On March 26th, I had a blog entry about my Golden Cat Tail cactus blooming, and you mentioned that you'd been looking for one. For some odd reason I remembered that, and took the chance that you hadn't found one yet... after it roots, it'll look pretty good tumbling over the edge of one of you tire towers...

Both of these plants like a little more water than most cactus. The Cleistocactus is native to Brazil where they get more rain than the dessert, and the Escobaria is native to here and the great plains... Neither want to be treated like a tropical plant, but they naturally get a bit more water than the dessert.

Love your pages of ATCs. Do you keep the back clear so you can see the names of the artists?

I love seeing mine there Front and Center! I feel so PROUD!!!
Thanks for deeming it worthy of your book!

PS What's really fun is that I can just about identify each artist myself! LOL
