Well, yeah...okra flowers are edible!!!

I'm not sure I would be a flower eater, but a battered and fried one might be interesting! Check out all of the edible flowers HERE! See if any of yours are on the list! If any of you are flower eaters, I would love to know if you eat them raw, cooked or as a garnish!

Hey Julie
Good list there. I think flowers are nice as garnish for green salads - add a bit of colour especially for a summer salad to make it look pretty. Otherwise I don't think I'll be a flower eater - they are too pretty!

I didn't realize okra flowers were edible. I've had squash/zucchini blooms but only fried with a TONNE of butter. Boiled almost... *drool* Butter...

Back when I had more luncheons and tea parties I would use flowers (squash blossoms) to hold edibles (chicken and tuna salad). I didn't really like the taste of the flowers even though they are edible. A few nasturtiums in a salad is yummy though. Besides they are very pretty too.

Never seen an okra flower before. It's really pretty. Same thing as the squash flowers, but I've never tried them out. Have a wonderful weekend.

We had the squash/zucchini flowers battered and fried when I was growing up. They were great! Fixed them along the same lines as fried mushrooms.

I didn't know that okra blooms could be used like squash blooms. Very pretty.

Love that new bright header!!

I need to grow more okra if only for the blooms. The fruit is nice, but the blooms are also good. Edible or not, they're pretty!
