My sweet variegated gasteria

I was passing by my succulent area from outside the screenroom, and looking in, I re-discovered my love for variegated plants! My Gasteria has a newish looking solid yellow bit growth in it, which I could only see from the backside of the plant! I suppose I should pay them more attention, even when it is so hard to spend much time out there in this heat!  I will make it up to them in a few months!!!  I promise.

Here are a back and front view of this outstanding specimen! I paid a bit more for it a few years ago, but felt in my heart then, as i do now, such happiness just gazing at it's beauty!

Thankyou quiet little sweet gasteria!!!

Happy cactus/succulent Monday!

Happy Monday! I am finally remembering to participate in Cactus Monday!!! Yeah! Over the rainy weekend I took a few pics of things in the screenroom. If you read to the bottom I will include a pic of the cute earrings I made from left over paper beads I had from my sisters bracelet.

Here are the buds on my white Christmas Cactus! The pink one has no sign of budding yet.

Is this (below)an Aeonium??? I can't remember!

Here is my amazing many-lived Kitten Ears plant (also a succulent plant)...some of the leaves are turning a pretty bronze color, and a close up shows the fuzziness of them. I have gotten more joy out of this plant...you can't imagine! It comes and goes, but when it is going, it is really pretty!!! It hates water!!!I only water it about 3-4 times a year.

Below is my gorgeous variegated gasteria...love at first sight when I found it a few years ago!!! This is my beauty queen!!!

And a trio of Haworthia(?)...aren't they cute? Only about 2 inches across, each!

OK...here are the earrings I threw together for a craft fair visit! I wish I had had some gold crimps, but alas, no. I used the silver ones (as the base) and it was OK. I'm a mixed up kind of person anyway (mixed gold and silver)....well, nd just plain mixed up as well! Hahahaha.

Happy Cactus Monday everybody!

Late night thoughts

Good evening!
I am sitting here with Doozey Dog, all alone with hubby and daughter asleep! The hum of the a/c was a little too quiet, so I turned on Anderson Cooper for some company! I really hate watching the news, but every once in a while I will. Too depressing.

Today I finally watered all of my little succulents in the screenroom with a half strength liquid indoor houseplant fertilizer. They seem to like it. While doing that, I decided to switch out my kitchen window plants (which had been the ones Claude had sent me)...I moved them out into slightly higher light, and decided to bring in my absolutely GORGEOUS variegated gasteria! Doesn't it just look so exotic? It has grown so much on the past year...(well...very slow growth, but yet steady). I think it has a sort of classical beauty...like a rose. It just seems so pleasing to my eye. I have a real love for this one!

Here is something fun that I ran across tonight!

10% of proceeds go to animal shelter. These sock animals are a sort of new passion for me! I saw a book at Micheals Craft store last night and was very excited to see animals made out of all sorts of crazy socks! Then I found this gal, who makes them for the animal shelter. Alright...that is a great cause! You can see them here at Adopt a Sock. Hope you enjoy!

If I ever make a sock pet, you will be the first to know! Maybe this weekend...

Thanks, and a few new pics!

Thanks for all your help on the last question of that cactus, that I had no idea about, but always thought all those graft hosts were euphorbias! So, I learned something new! Good to know too, since I assume that the Hylocereus undatus is making new parts of it's own self now!!! I am so excited to see what happens with it...I really like those soft ultra white hair-like spines!!!

I took a few pic of 3 more of my succulents. Which one is your favorite??? (I am partial to my little tea cup with three Haworthia turgida). They were a mystery for a long time, and they grow soooo slowly and are becoming fatter, and cuter every day. One day I will need to move them out of the tea cup, but for now, they seem to be thriving in their crowded conditions! I love the little soft white striped markings out on their tips!

Gasteria gracilus variegated form

Today I went to a plant sale at Mounts Botanical Gardens with my Mom, daughter, friend, and met up with my sister in law, and another friend! It was really wonderful. Perfect weather (West Palm beach, Florida), sunny, clear skies, and a cool, dry breeze! We had a wonderful time. Of course, I gravitated to the succulents. I found this absolutely lovely and perfect specimen of Gasteria gracilus variegata, and fell right in love with it! I cherished it from the moment my eyes fell upon it. It is a sick sickness that I have! LOLOL. You should have seen me carrying it with both hands and close to my chest, as I occasionally gave it a sort of kiss now and then! Hee hee hee! I was in heaven! Enjoy the pics I took of it once we got home!
