It's all fun!

By the time you may be reading this, I will be in Key West with my daughter for spring break! We decided to drive down (about a 6 hour drive), and check it out. I was raised in Florida and have never gone down, so decided it was about time. We are just doing a 2 day quickie trip. She so generously agreed to accompany me, since my hubby has to work. Gotta get her back home to her friends, so she can hang out for the rest of her break with them! LOL...I am grateful she will go with me...it will be pure heaven for me, for sure!!!

One thing I must do while I am down there is visit Kino Sandals. If you want to pick out a favorite pair, click HERE! Let me know which one you think I should buy (ie: which one do you think is the cutest)!

Wanted to show you all a little doodle I did before I left. It just came out of my head as I was sitting around watching TV...quite enjoyable, I must say! I tried Lisa's,from Artsy Endeavors trick using markers...but mine were just Sharpies that I had laying around. I like that they are permanent...no smudges, and no ink on my hands or forearms! That part made it very comfortable for me. I can't tell you what it is...I would just draw one thing, and sit and stare at it a while and sort of think of something to add, and I went on like that for 2 evenings (it is a slow process for me)! LOL. I thought it turned out interesting, at a minimum, and I did the color inversion thing, which was fun. I like it both ways. I must ask all of the artists out there...what do you do with everything you create??? Do you mostly just fill up sketch books...which is now what I am doing...or do you use another storage method??? By the way, I have decided that something I have become VERY interested in in just the last 24 hours, is making bound handmade paper sketchbooks. I am going out to the web to find out HOW TO DO IT, as soon as I finish this post. Wish me luck. If I can figure it out and make a beautiful one, suitable for a very fine artist I know, it will be sent out to my friend, Teri, from Painted Daisies, since she is the one who really turned me on to them! Wish me great luck, because I am on a mission now to actually make her a mighty fine book...one that will lay flat, where she can draw mandalas all day by the pool this summer!

Have a wonderful week. I should be back home by Thursday and will see you then!

xoxo- Julie

You are the artist! Such lovely drawings. I am sure they represent what is going on in your head.

I hope right now you are drinking a Hog's Breath Beer, or at the very least enjoying some key lime pie.

We always stay in Islamorada, but Key West is not be missed.

Have A Great Time!

PS: Juie I would get the Margarita sandals because they look the most comfortable and because of the name.

This is a very cool sketch! This reminds me of a co-worker who is an art director. He's in many of my meetings and when the meetings get bored he doodles all over his notepad. It's very interesting to see him draw when meetings seems to run forever!
