Fungus finds




These were found at my daughters school again...a lush tropical setting, where giant colorful Iguanas hang out! The second photo is fungus along the side edge of the stump where they like to come and sun themselves! I find fungus to be so beautiful, unusual, and interesting!

Wow, that is so cool! The ones on the bottom picture almost look like giant seashells.

YES! I love fungi too!! What a co-inky-dink. Anyhooo, when we lived in Wisconsin we had woods and there was always some kind of cool fungi. We found giant puffball mushrooms and morels and some sort of truffle--probably not the good kind on our walks there. Also the weird stuff that grew out of trees and such like. Isn't nature just amazing! Mary

Fungi is rare here because it's so dry. I love looking at it, it always has such interesting patterns and growth habits. I wonder what the difference is in lichen and fungus. Guess I'll have to do some Googling and find out!
