Oh goodness... I missed Cactus Monday!

It is 12:30am on Tuesday morning and I am just signing on here! I realized just now that it was Monday (just ended)...oh brother, how can I be so lame??? It was just a busy day...my hubby is off for these two first days of the week, and we are busy with the grands. Today we took them to a wildlife rescue...one we have been to 3 times now in the last month (all but hubby)...but it is so cool. Today they had a wildlife encounter where they bring out a lot of animals and give a talk about them. Then at 4pm, they fed a crocodile and an alligator. We didn't end up staying for that, because my hubby wanted to check out the whole place. They have recently added a bear habitat, which is very cool! The grands and we all enjoy going here...just very cool place for all they do for the animals and humans (teaching us). If you are ever in Jupiter, Florida...stop by Busch Wildlife.

Interesting side note: I had sent my blogger pal, Claude, some gloriosa lilies, just last week, and what happened this week? My DIL showed up with some gloriosas her Mom had sent to me! LOL. Well, I went ahead and planted them along one section of chain link fence that is bare. Hopefully they will do well there.

I also planted more okra seeds! About 15 in the garden area, and 15 more (3 in each 5 gallon pot where tomatoes were). It has been so rainy, it was a perfect time.

Second side note: The hibiscus flowers I have been using for mulch in the garden are breaking down very quickly...which is a good thing nutritionally for the garden. I am having to hold off on placing any more until the okra comes up well enough to be sure I don't cover it up and block their growth...proabably just a week or so, and then I will be back at it. This is a fun experiment. I love my experiments!!! LOL.

We made ice cream on the 4th...chocolate...and we had Magic Shell topping (my grandsons choices on toppings), whipped cream, cheries, and sprinkles.

Tonight following pizza dinner, we used the rest of the ice cream makings on fresh peach ice cream! That was delicious!!!

Oh my, glad to know other people have "brain freezes" and forget things. I do it with regularity. Love you posts.
