Surinam cherries and I found a Gloriosa!!!!!

These cherry bushes are making their fruit right now! Their only redeeming quality is their short-lived beauty...they are extremely messy and taste like crap! Aren't they beautiful though...with the hanging red globes and pretty little white flowers?

Update on Gloriosas returning...I found a group of them today! Can't find any more though...but they will return! No flowers yet, but they will grow real long...about 4 ft. long before you see any blooming action. Can't wait!!!

Yes, those cherries are a beautiful red. We have some wild cherries at home that are not only messy, they stain everything they touch.

I will surely be looking for those daisies!!

Is there a secret to growing these cherry plants? We have one and have never had a bloom or cherry on it...it's solid brown now for our harsh winter, still green inside though?????.....

Congrats!

Gloriosas are one of my favorite blooms, they look like alien ships.

Those cherries and blossoms are gorgeous! Come to think of it, I've never seen any cherries growing around here. Maybe they need a lot of water.
