Tonight I am busy printing up my daughers high school graduation invitations and the program for same. Tomorrow all of the moms meet for further graduation planning. I believe I have the table decor covered, with daisies for our flowers. The school colors are yellow, very dark blue, and I am throwing is a little black to punch it up a bit. We are having it at a country club, to include a buffet dinner. The staff there have agreed to make us a graduation cake instead of individual desserts. That is very nice of them and it will save us one more thing to worry about. Now all we need to do is go shopping for our new outfits...Carolyn will need to wear a white dress. Should be fun!
I love how the winter sun, and now continuing Spring sun, has turned my aloes a nice shade of orange! Isn't that the most fun with cactus and succulents...watching them change colors, suddenly surprise with blooms...they never fail to entertain me! Now that my children are grown, my succulents are as much "my little babies", as my animals are! Awww...empty nesting is actually becoming fun!

I haven't seen my Aloe change colour yet. Mind you, we barely get winters at all here. They are more like a Wyoming fall.
Sounds like it's going to be a beautiful graduation! Are your kids home schooled or are you just having a party for them? I was just thinking the other day; my daughter Micaela will be 13 in June and Chloe is 9. Time really flies! Micaela will be in high school before I know it! I am already starting to get into my own things again like plants. It's nice to pull away from the kids a bit and find yourself again, isn't it? I love it, and I really missed it.
Oh yah, daisies on the table! congrats on the graduation and impending empty nest. I love these aloes for their healing power.

Wow, your aloe looks very pretty. The orange coloring is lovely. Yes, succulents are quite amazing that way, with their ability to change colors.

Take lots of photos! Is your daughter going on to college? Hope all goes well and that it's a wonderful graduation. I was in my middle 30s when my youngest went off to college. I did not suffer from Empty Nest Syndrome! Too young. Both my kids were out of college by the time I was 41. How do you think you'll do?
The particular Aloe species you show won the Best in Show at last year's Cactus and Succulent Society Show. It was almost all orange, and in bloom. It also won People's Choice. It was a spectacular specimen. The owner kept it under grow lights to get so much orange.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your nice comments! We are excited for Carolyns graduation...she is my last child out of 4! I feel like I will be ok, as far as empty nest goes, because she plans to stay at home and attend college here! YEAH for me...or I would lose my computer guru.
Aiyana-Good news about the orange aloe (from gro lights) winning the award! YEAH! I thought it looked very interesting, for sure!
Are aloe supposed to do that? I always thought it meant they were dying and threw them out. Opps.
