Picture taken Oct. 10, 2008

"O suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour
October's bright blue weather."
-unknown author

I took this picture the other day of a Royal Poinciana. It was so beautiful with the bright orange blooms, but then I found this poem that talks about the clear bright skies in October, and found that this was exactly true on this day!

Ooooh...On a second enlarged look at your photo they appear in many ways to be similar to the Mexican bird of Paradise blooms we have here in Az... I wonder if they are related???

I love this tree. We have one at the arboretum here, but it doesn't have nearly as many flowers as yours does. Wow!
