It's a Happy Cactus Monday!

While walking Doozey this morning I passed the chopped down Prickly Pear...and this first pic shows how much trunk was left. I felt compelled to walk up and see what was happening as far as any new growth, and look what I found!

Some new growth!!! I am so happy...soon it will be a giant tree again, because it is a fighter! It really is a happy Cactus Monday!

cool! It'll happen fairly quickly...(well, quickly for a cactus!) It has that huge root system in place to support new growth... how are the pads that you and your mother saved? Anything yet?

Oh my gosh. It is a fighter. The poor thing. I hope the owners grow to appreciate it too.

I wonder if the folks that chopped it down wanted it to start over. I've never seen this type of pruning before--all the ones I've seen made sure the whole thing was out--just to prevent resprouting.

Hi Julie, I can share your happiness here.
She is strong and already now with a few new growth.
I am sure by timing she will be a wonderful healthy giant tree again.
We pray for her coming back.
Great sound of music to cherish the past sweet memories and to look up for the future that she is a real fighter.
Lovely! Splendid! Ha..Ha..
Happy cactus Monday Julie:)

Thanks all!

Claude- I was at my Moms house tonight and she has about 4 pads just laying on her patio that she has not planted yet. Mine is doing fine in the front garden area...just waiting for any growth on it...but it is busy making roots right now, I'm sure! The minute I see anything,I will grab the camera and post, for sure!
